The pro audio sector continues to support PLASA ahead of the annual 2015 show, at The ExCeL exhibition center in London’s Docklands on the 4th – 6th October, where the show has gathered support from many well-known audio manufacturers and distributors.

With Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Germany GmbH (Disney Germany), one of the world's leading companies in the film industry decided for an Alcons cinema sound system. For the in-house screening room, an Alcons CR1 system with subwoofer, surrounds and processing-amplification was acquired.

The last edition was successfully held from 5 – 8 April 2015 and attracted 63,785 visitors. This year’s show was the biggest ever with 1,186 exhibitors featuring their best products and technologies in 12 halls (130,000 sqm) in Areas A & B, China Import and Export Fair Complex, Guangzhou. The next edition of Prolight + Sound Guangzhou will be held from 29 February – 3 March 2016 in Area A of the same venue. The show will expand to 13 halls offering more business opportunities to the pro audio and lighting industry
While Hollywood star Steve Martin and singer/songwriter Edie Brickell might seem an unlikely pairing to write a musical, their shared love of bluegrass music resulted in Bright Star, a story of love and loss in North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains. Delicate reproduction of the bluegrass score was vital to the show’s success, which is why sound designer Nevin Steinberg chose an Alcons pro-ribbon sound system.

Exhibitor numbers reach new heights Fair attracts local and international buyers and visitors from diverse industries The 2015 edition of Wire & Cable Guangzhou will open its doors from 9 – 12 June 2015 at the China Import and Export Fair Complex. Organised by Guangzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt Co Ltd and Guangzhou BoYou Exhibition Service Co Ltd, Wire & Cable Guangzhou is the largest event of its kind in the South China region.
Dutch audio innovator Alcons Audio will be showing its latest pro-ribbon sound systems at InfoComm 2015, which takes place at the Orange County Convention Center, Orlando, Florida from 17th - 19th June. Alcons is exhibiting on Booth 779, as well as hosting off-site demonstrations during the show of the company’s latest audio innovations, based around its patented Pro-Ribbon technology and the ongoing pursuit of audio perfection. Highlight of the show will be two new pro-ribbon line-array systems, which are making their US trade show debuts.

Now that Prolight+Sound is over for another year, British console manufacturer DiGiCo would like to set the record straight and thank all those that visited their booth at the exhibition. “With the S21, we wanted to re-write the rulebook. To test the conclusions we previewed at Prolight+Sound without publishing or unlocking the full software potential, or even the intended release specifications,”
For yet another year running D.A.S. Audio professional sound systems were on hand to provide top-of-the-line sound for the 55th Cosquín National Folk Festival. The city’s Plaza Próspero Molina played host to the 10,000-plus spectators who descended on the square each “moon”, as the festival evenings are called.
For new business Crown Works Studio (CWS), the purchase of two ASP880 8-channel mic pres turned out to be two of the most useful – and economically sensible - additions to their studio. “The pair of ASP880s are currently in place of the typical large format console and high end converters found in most studios,” says owner and assistant engineer, Ross Wareing, confessing that it was “…something we were very wary of to begin until we heard the ASP880s in action.”
