Focus Venue takes the line array “straight” to new heights

Fohhn Audio launches new concert sound line array at Paris Beam Steering Summit. The recent Fohhn Beam Steering Summit, held in Paris during the JTSE show, enabled hundreds of visitors to personally discover how over a decade of vision has made the German loudspeaker manufacturer a global expert in Beam Steering technology.

The event, which marked the official launch of Fohhn’s brand new Focus Venue Beam Steering line array, took place in TV-Studio 210 at the Studios de France.

At a special launch party on the eve of JTSE, around 100 invited international guests enjoyed an exclusive Focus Venue presentation from Fohhn sound engineer Christian Bollinger, who introduced the technical refinements of the new system. Specially developed for large concert halls, theatres and other live sound venues, the powerful new line array can be flown “straight”: no mechanical curving is involved. Its beam dispersion characteristics can be precisely controlled in real time, using Fohhn Audio Soft software, to guarantee excellent sound quality even in the most difficult acoustic conditions. The system’s compact design enables perfect integration into architectural surroundings and stage portals. With the launch of Focus Venue, Fohhn now provides the largest and most comprehensive product programme, worldwide, for digitally controllable Beam Steering systems.

During the evening, Fohhn Audio board members Jochen Schwarz and Uli Haug gave a brief historical outline of the company’s Beam Steering technology vision. It was then the turn of renowned British sound engineer Chris Madden who demonstrated some of the live tracks recorded a few weeks earlier during Anastacia’s “Music Loves Fashion” live show at the E-Werk in Cologne, where Focus Venue systems were used.

On show days, JTSE visitors were invited to attend product demonstrations in the same TV studio, experiencing the full range of Fohhn Beam Steering products “live” – from the established Linea Focus and Focus Modular systems, through to the new Focus Venue.
