DASaim, the high-tech digital steering technology for Aero-40A and Aero-20A, optimized the sound system of the event achieving the desired sound quality all over the audience areas throughout the large festival site, which gathered 30,000 people in its latest edition.
To deliver the best sound, DAS Audio systems returned for the second year in a row to the 8th edition of the Paellas Festival Live 2019, held on April 17. Located at the 200,000-square-meters Rabasa Multispace facility, near the University, the Paellas Festival offers uninterrupted live music, gastronomy and entertainment from 10 am to 9 pm. This year, as a novelty, all the power was focused on the main stage as there were no secondary stages like in previous editions. Thus, the main stage drew all the attention with a colorful monumental structure by artist Antonyo Marest, plus a sound system that delivered sound quality with power and coverage throughout the venue and all over the audience areas.
Oxigen Sonido e Iluminación was in charge of the installation of the systems in the venue. A main system of twenty-eight Aero-40A was enhanced with twelve Aero-20A for outfill, eight Aero-40A for frontfill, twenty-four Aero-40A for delay and sixteen UX-221A subwoofers. The audio challenges faced in this edition were different from last year´s since the festival has shifted from being a multi-stage event to focusing on a single stage. In this occasion, the objective was to achieve uniform coverage and high intelligibility all over the audience areas, as well as delivering pressure and sound quality throughout.
To ensure these requirements were met, the systems were adjusted and optimized with DASaim for controlled SPL and directivity. DASaim also allowed the design of FIR filters for each cabinet of the arrays enabling optimal control of the global behavior of the Aero-40A and Aero-20A systems. Additionally, the acoustic prediction software EASEFocus 3 and DASnet v1.70 were used to optimize the design with DASaim.
Once more, the producers of the event, Babalú, and the rental company Oxigen, wich provided the sound equipment, opted for DAS Audio systems to rock the festival. Jorge Henderson, Oxigen's Technical Director, explains that DAS Audio "is a guarantee of reliability. Honestly, it's a brand that responds to all kinds of events.
