Pioneer PRO AUDIO plays Fare for foodies

Fare, London, deploys Pioneer PRO AUDIO XPRS systems for Noble Confessions gastronomic gathering. When a gastronomic event is organised by Billy Wagner (Nobelhart & Schmutzig), Michael Sager (Sager and Wilde), and Nick Bril (The Jane), the guests are guaranteed a culinary treat of the highest order.

That’s exactly what happened in July at Fare, Sager’s Old Street London restaurant, when the three staged Noble Confessions, an exclusive fringe occasion to complement the World’s 50 Best Restaurants event which had this year returned to London.

As well the trio of aforementioned establishments, proceedings at Fare also featured contributions from Ynyshir (Wales), Tian (Vienna), Tantris (Munich) and Willem Hiele (Belgium), completing a quite literally mouth-watering food and drink experience.

The unique event, which enjoyed its debut in 2019, aimed to create a relaxed, informal setting in which its international guests from the restaurant world could enjoy great hospitality and conversation.

Music was a significant ingredient at Fare, with DJ sets by Âme live, Greta Sparks and none other than Michelin-starred chef Nick Bril, whose parallel career as a DJ reflects his view that the skill involved in making music has much in common with the creativity required in a kitchen. When the organisers were seeking a sound system for the event, it was Bril who placed Pioneer PRO AUDIO firmly on the rider.

A Pioneer PRO AUDIO system sits at the heart of The Jane, Bril’s Antwerp restaurant, where he seeks to present diners with a ‘total experience’. Music is an essential part of the atmosphere, and a turnkey Pioneer PRO AUDIO installation, which includes products from across the manufacturer’s professional and commercial audio ranges, now fills every space with what he describes as a “waterfall of music”. As one of the organisers of the event at Fare, Bril arranged for two Pioneer PRO AUDIO systems to meet its requirements.

A system comprising 2 x XPRS-15 full-range active loudspeakers and a single XPRS-215S dual active subwoofer was deployed in the venue’s lower level, complemented by 2 x XPRS-12 and 2 x XPRS115S active subwoofers for monitoring. For the upper level, a pair of XPRS-10 was sufficient. The plug and play nature of the systems made for a swift, straightforward and compact set up. Pioneer supplied all DJ kit, including 2 x CDJ-3000, 1 x DJM-V10 and 1 DJM-900.

Nick Bril comments:

The event was a great success in a fantastic setting. The DJ sets went really well and the audio quality was fantastic. My experience with Pioneer PRO AUDIO loudspeakers at The Jane meant that there could only be one choice for this event, and the power, warmth and clarity of the sound once again shone through.

Marketing Executive at Pioneer PRO AUDIO adds:

We’re very proud that the XPRS range has been deployed for another prestigious event of this kind. The systems offer a high quality plug and play solution that can be tailored to meet a wide range of small to medium-sized applications, and it’s gratifying that Nick once again turned to Pioneer PRO AUDIO with full confidence.
