Casa Batlló is a building in the centre of Barcelona that was designed by famous Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi. The building is widely regarded as one of his masterpieces and was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005.
This winter, the building is home to a spectacular light show with lots of equipment provided by Soiart, including lights and special effects by Showtec.
The light show at Casa Batlló is part of an experience named A Night 100 Years Ago and tells a story about the Batlló family that is based on real events.
Special lighting, effects and virtual content is used to create a magical experience for visitors. Soiart provided lighting and effects by Showtec as well as cables by DAP for connecting and powering the devices.
Showtec plays an integral part in the experience with many of its products being used. These include 12 EventSpot 1600 Q4 spotlights, 24 EventDOT 15 Q4 spotlights, 29 EventLITE 4/10 Q4 spotlights, 26 Cameleon Bar 12/3 light bars and eight Helix M1100 Q4 Mobile washes. Special effects come in the form of seven Showtec QubiQ F1500 Fazers, which are filled with Showgear Fog fluid.
The iconic Casa Batlló is an attraction that should be on the agenda of anyone visiting Barcelona and with lighting and special effects by Showtec enhancing the experience, it is surely unmissable.
