With headquarters and showroom in Miraflores, Lima, the company was founded in 1998 and they became oficial distributors of the Italian brand in 2016, taking care of Powersoft’s distribution, commercialization and support all over Peru.
Paulo César Aguilar, commercial manager, tells us more about the company and his personal experiences.
How did you start in the audio industry and how did you start Sonotec?
Since we are really passionate about sound, we have always looked for the best brands in the market and that is how Sonotec was born to be able to represent and distribute them in our territory.
How does Powersoft fit into Sonotec’s portfolio?
Sonotec’s commercial politics is to provide local professionals with the best products available in the audio world. At the same time, we promote professionalization of all the ones involved with the sound industry. Keeping this politics in mind, Powersoft’s inclusion was something that it was meant to happen to continue providing the best brands to our clients.
Which are the principles you follow when choosing a brand to partner with?
As I said before, we select the best brands in the professional audio world to be able to offer our clients the right solutions. We always keep an eye on the equipment international engineers request in their riders and productions and, based on that, we make them available in the Peruvian market.
Why is Powersoft the right choice for rental companies, integrators and designers you work with?
In a country were the electricity flow is very unstable, the power factor correction (PFC) Powersoft offers is a huge added value, besides the power it can give taking little physical storage space. Another positive point that shows why Powersoft is the right choice is its high quality sound and the Armonía software which allows fast setup with different loudspeakers available in the market.
In what kind of projects have Powersoft products been present in your country up to now?
Up to now we have been assisting different projects with some rental companies and our distribution department. We are now working on new installation projects in theaters with some integration companies.
Have sales grown since you distribute Powersoft?
Yes, sales have definitively grown with Powersoft’s inclusion in the portfolio of brands we represent.
How fast is the audio industry changing in your country? And what do you think about that?
Peru, except the last two years, has shown a constant economical growth. This allows people to spend more in entertainment, making the presentation of international shows grow and also the creation of new cultural venues in the country. Music, cinema, theater and AV productions are having a bigger interest between general audience. This allows, at the same time, the search for a better audio quality to be positioned as the best entertainment options. That is where we take part providing consultancy and offering the best commercial solutions for their technical requirements.
How has your relationship with Powersoft been and how is the brand evolving to keep pace with the industry?
Our relationship with Powersoft is good, since we have a good support and communication. At the same time, with the brand’s support, we got the right training to create the first technical service center in Peru, something that didn’t exist here in the past.
What motivates you to continue working in the industry as a professional and company owner?
The passion for sound!
What strategies and actions will you follow this year to continue your job with Powersoft?
We believe it is important to continue carrying out training sessions and showing Powersoft amplifiers features and advantages so potential clients can define their purchase to the brand’s products. On the other hand, through our digital marketing department, we will start a promotion campaign through social media to increase and make more dynamic consults and quotations corresponding to this brand
