Mo Gawdat will bring his vision of AI and the future of humanity to ISE 2027

Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) has announced that Mo Gawdat, a business executive and author of four international bestsellers, will deliver the Business Keynote at ISE 2027. The trade show will return to Fira de Barcelona Gran Via from 2 to 5 February 2027.

Gawdat will take the stage at CC4 on Tuesday, 2 February. The session will examine the current impact of AI and explore fundamental questions about the pace of change, responsibility and human behaviour, as well as how organisations should respond.

The aim is to encourage attendees to broaden their perspective beyond the specific solutions they will discover at the show and reflect on where AI is taking us and what role people should play in shaping that future.

Who is Mo Gawdat?

With more than three decades of professional experience, Gawdat has worked for companies including IBM, Microsoft and Google, and has co-founded more than 30 businesses. His writing focuses on happiness, artificial intelligence and the future of humanity. In his first book, the bestseller Solve for Happy: Engineer Your Path to Joy, he introduced an algorithm describing how our minds interpret the world and process joy and sadness.

With his second book, Scary Smart: The Future of AI and How You Can Save Our World, he established himself as a leading voice in the international debate on AI. His work explores how this technology will continue to evolve and what changes businesses can make to integrate it effectively into their operations. This vision is reflected in his new initiative, Emma.love, an advisory platform based on ethical AI, and in his forthcoming book, Alive: A Human’s Guide to Living in the World of AI.

AI and audiovisual convergence

Mo Gawdat brings an unusual combination of business experience, technological expertise and a human perspective to the debate on AI. At a time when sectors and disciplines across the audiovisual world are becoming increasingly interconnected, his keynote will encourage the ISE community to look beyond the hype surrounding this technology and consider how to apply it responsibly to generate new ideas, experiences and opportunities. His message reflects the spirit of When Worlds Unite, and we look forward to welcoming him to the ISE 2027 stage, says Mike Blackman, Managing Director of Integrated Systems Events.

The theme of ISE 2027, When Worlds Unite, reflects the growing convergence of audiovisual technology, digital content, immersive experiences, smart buildings and live events. Gawdat's keynote will explore how AI can help connect these technological fields while keeping the human dimension at the forefront.
