The latest version of ETC's Hog OS v5.3 lighting control software introduces improvements in performance, stability and ease of use, along with significant internal changes that prepare the platform for future features.
The update introduces new control tools, interface customisation options and improvements to various system functions.
Among the main new features is a graphical framing shutter tool, which expands the control options available to users. The update also introduces touch-based window resizing, making it easier to organise the different elements of the interface.
Another new feature is a screen layout option that allows the display to be divided into six sections instead of four, providing an additional way to organise windows and adapt the workspace to each operator's needs.
The Hog OS v5.3 release also brings improvements to recording and masking functions, adds more U Keys and enhances the Fixtures window. These changes are part of the updates designed to improve the user experience and streamline everyday workflows on Hog family consoles.
In terms of connectivity, the update implements OSC communication over a local Wi-Fi network on new consoles, expanding the communication options available on these devices. In addition, Hog OS v5.3 supports connecting up to two Tour Wing playback wings to a single console, offering new configuration possibilities for users working with these devices.
Beyond the visible features, ETC highlights that this release includes significant internal software changes. These modifications lay the groundwork for future capabilities while helping to improve the platform's overall performance and stability.
This release brings significant improvements to Hog's ease of use while also laying the groundwork for even more exciting features to come, says Tania Lesage, Market Manager at ETC.
With Hog OS v5.3, ETC continues to develop its lighting control platform, focusing this update on both the tools available to operators and preparing the system for future enhancements.
