The Cathedral of the Holy Cross has dominated Boston's South End neighborhood since its construction just after the Civil War. With a seating capacity of 1,700 and a ceiling reaching to 80 feet, the cathedral is the largest Roman Catholic church in New England and the mother church for the Archdiocese of Boston.
