Nestled in the heart of the Alps, facing Mont Blanc, Le Monchu restaurant blends Savoyard tradition with modern elegance in a warm and inviting setting. Its latest standout feature: a custom-designed sound system by Hortus Audio, offering guests a truly immersive acoustic experience.
Sound design down to the last detail
The goal was clear: deliver top-quality sound both indoors and on the spacious terrace, without disturbing the surrounding peace. The challenge was met with flying colors thanks to a discreet, elegant, and intelligent audio system that adjusts the atmosphere throughout the day – from brunch to dinner service and lively DJ sets.
The choice of excellence: Hortus Audio
For this project, Le Monchu turned to Hortus Audio, known for its high-performance equipment and refined design. The team implemented a multi-zone sound system featuring the MI 12, MI 13, and MI 18+ models, supported by subwoofers and amplifiers.
A total of 90 speakers – 50 indoors and 40 outdoors – now provide seamless sound coverage across the 500 m² property, ensuring clear, balanced audio in every area.
A flexible and intuitive installation
The project was completed in two phases: the interior in November and the exterior by March. Operating daily from 8 a.m. to 1 a.m., the system can be controlled by the DJ as well as by staff or management through a simple, intuitive interface. The result: a finely tuned sound atmosphere where guests can hold conversations comfortably, even as the energy rises.

In this historic building, wiring posed a major challenge. Thanks to the expertise and adaptability of the Hortus team, every obstacle was anticipated and resolved with professionalism.

A celebrated success… and an inspiration
Praised by both regulars and tourists, the sound installation has become a key feature of the Le Monchu experience. “The sound is everywhere but never overwhelming. We love it”, shares a loyal guest.
Given its success, the restaurant is already considering replicating the system in a second location, fully convinced that acoustic comfort is now a vital part of the guest experience.
