Toshiba brings unlimited media storage to IBC 2025

Toshiba Electronics Europe GmbH (Toshiba) returns to IBC 2025, where in this edition it will offer live demonstrations of its high-capacity and highly reliable MG series hard disk drives (HDD), designed for digital content storage.

The highlight at Toshiba’s booth will be a multimedia storage system that breaks the Petabyte (PB) barrier with a capacity of 1.4 PB, built with 60 Toshiba 24 TB HDD units. This storage cluster is based on ZFS and is designed for streaming, post-production, and editing applications.

The system also incorporates technology from Toshiba’s trusted partners. Specifically, Open-E provides the Jovian DSS software and ATTO supplies the host bus adapters and network interface cards, while Promise Technology contributes its top-loading JBOD chassis with 60 bays for high-density drives.

During the presentation The Easiest Way to Add 100 TB of Storage to Your Computer, Toshiba will also showcase an innovative ICY BOX desktop RAID unit with direct USB connection that uses 24 TB SATA hard drives.

IBC is a key event for the global media and entertainment industry, bringing together creative, technological, and business communities to explore trends and innovations. At our booth, we will present the latest advances in storage solutions and attendees will have the opportunity to meet our specialists and storage ecosystem partners, adds Rainer W. Kaese, Senior Business Development Manager for HDD at Toshiba Electronics Europe.
