The Moon Palace is the biggest hotel and conference centre complex on Mexico’s sought-after eastern coast Riviera Maya region. Owned by Palace Resorts, the property offers three large indoor conference and event centres plus three substantial outdoor terraces and a beach venue, the latter of which can accommodate up to 10,000 people for concerts.

Cincinnati rock band The National’s touring lighting crew appreciated using a mix of Robe BMFL Blade and Spiider wash beam moving lights for their show at Auckland, New Zealand’s Spark Arena venue, for which equipment was supplied by rental company NW Group/Oceania, and used to great effect to realise a touring version of Michael Brown’s production lighting design.

Choreographer Andrew McNicol presented the world premiere of Upstream his first collaboration with the Companhia Nacional de Bailado (CNB) – the National Ballet of Portugal – for which he asked acclaimed lighting designer Yaron Abulafia to create scenography and lighting for the performance which was staged at the São Carlos Opera House, Lisbon, Portugal.

Grupo ROA is an event production and equipment rental provider based in Zinacantepec, near Toluca, State of Mexico. The company is led by Rodolfo Oropeza, a music-loving entrepreneur who manages several businesses within a 10,000-square-meter complex that has belonged to his family for many years.

Popular rapper and producer ИF just finished a massive US leg of his HOPE world tour which featured another impressive lighting and production design created by Chris Denholm (also production manager & musical director) and Clay Joiner (also lighting designer & programmer, as well as operator on the European leg).

Production and rental company For Live supplied lighting for multiple stages across five halls of Amsterdam’s RAI for the 2023 World Gymnaestrada – a quadrennial global non-competitive gymnastics extravaganza – organised by TIG Sports, with all-Robe moving lighting rigs installed in Halls 11 and 12 which were also utilised for special shows.

Robe enjoyed an excellent and super-active Prolight+Sound expo in Frankfurt, Germany, exhibiting alongside its five core businesses – Robe, Avolites, Anolis, LSC Systems and Artistic Licence – in a ‘Robe Village’ area that was constantly busy throughout the four-day trade show.

Ryan Schaminee, owner of RS Images, is a busy freelance gaffer and lighting console programmer/operator based in the Netherlands, working across a wide variety of commercial, television and film productions.

Classic and crossover violinist David Garrett is a unique, interesting, and fun artist to light requiring a mix of treatments inspired by multiple visual genres, which is one of the many aspects – and challenges - relished by lighting designer Gerard Maijenburg who has worked with him for the last seven years.

It’s been a busy year so far for lighting designer Tim Routledge, including crafting a stunning production lighting design for Helene Fischer’s audacious new LIVE 2023 arena tour collaboration with Cirque du Soleil, which is playing to sold out audiences across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland until the autumn, presenting an energetic collage of a 360-degree production.

Lighting designer Johnny Thinggaard was asked to create a production design for popular Danish pop/soul artist Lukas Graham’s The Pink tour, for which Johnny presented a modern and stylish concept, with three striking perspective related scenic walls covered in fabric and with integral LED pixels along the tops, enhancing the depth and dimensions of the performance space.

German lighting designer Dennis Feichtner was delighted that the Robe moving lights specified on his production lighting plot were available at each show on a recent Latin American tour with black metal gurus, Emperor.

Hugely successful Swedish pop supergroup GES (a nifty acronym derived from the surnames of three of the country’s biggest singing stars – Anders Glenmark, Orup (Thomas Eriksson) and Niklas Strömstedt – continued a rollercoaster tour that started in 2021, wrapping up 2022 with a 33-date sold-out residency at Stockholm’s famous Cirkus venue.

Intelligent, enigmatic, and hugely talented, the music of Phoebe Bridgers has been captivating an ever-growing fanbase since her first album release in 2017, with lighting designer Spike Kienholz Inglis of Spike Design lucky enough to have been lighting the artist since those early days.

Robe moving lights – ESPRITES, Spiiders, iSpiiders and iFORTE LTXs used as follow spots – all had great impact on the lighting and set designed by Simon Corder for Opera Hedeland’s La fanciulla del West (Girl of the Golden West) by Puccini, which is set in a ‘Gold Rush’ prospecting town in 19th century western USA.

American magician Mat Franco’s current Las Vegas residency – MAGIC REINVENTED NIGHTLY – is staged at the Mat Franco Arena at the LINQ Hotel+Experience, and is every bit THE hot-ticket in town – a fast-and-furious, thrilling show-stopper full of cool tricks and humor immersing and delighting fans!
