The Discoteca de los 80 tour, conceived and produced by Sharemusic!, was not only a nostalgic journey through the greatest hits of an iconic decade, but also a showcase of sonic power and precision thanks to the deployment of Meyer Sound and DiGiCo.
The Movistar Arena in Madrid shook with a complete sold-out, driven by the artists’ energy and the punch of an audio system designed to deliver an immersive, unforgettable experience to the thousands of attendees.
From the evening’s opener, Ryan Paris, to the triumphant finale with Alphaville, every note, beat and voice was projected with impressive clarity and force. The key to this exceptional sonic experience lay in meticulous planning and the choice of a high-end loudspeaker system.

The commanding Meyer Sound deployment
The main PA system was built around 64 LEO loudspeakers, renowned for covering long distances with astonishing clarity. They were complemented by 16 LYON W units, providing wider horizontal coverage to ensure sound reached every corner of the venue evenly.
To deliver a hard-hitting mid-range, 60 PANTHER M loudspeakers—celebrated for their versatility and punchy, well-defined sound—were deployed, joined by 16 PANTHER W for broader horizontal dispersion in the same band.
The rhythmic foundation of Discoteca de los 80, vital for rekindling the era’s energy, relied on an impressive sub array: 48 rigged 1100-LFC units, maximizing impact and efficiency in low-frequency propagation. This arsenal provided the depth and punch needed for the audience to feel every beat.

To ensure optimal coverage in the front rows and avoid bass drop-off near the stage, 21 LEOPARD loudspeakers were ground-stacked. These compact yet powerful cabinets delivered excellent clarity and definition in the front zone. Fourteen additional 1100-LFC subs—this time ground-stacked rather than rigged—further reinforced low frequencies at the front of the stage.
Total control with DiGiCo Quantum 338
Management and control of this complex sound system were handled by two DiGiCo Quantum 338 consoles. These state-of-the-art desks gave the engineers the power, flexibility and precision needed to manage multiple audio sources and deliver a flawless mix for every artist and song. The Quantum 338’s processing capacity and intuitive interface let technicians sculpt the sound in detail, ensuring each interpretive nuance reached the audience with maximum fidelity.
