INFiLED’s MV screens raise the visual standard at Stade Marie-Marvingt

Known worldwide for the iconic 24 Hours endurance race, the French city of Le Mans combines this sporting prestige with a medieval historic centre and a strong tradition of hosting major events.

At the heart of this activity is Stade Marie-Marvingt, with a capacity of 25,000 spectators and more than 100 events per year, ranging from football and rugby to concerts.

When the stadium’s existing LED screens began to fall below the standards expected of a venue of this level, management entrusted French integrator AUVISYS with designing and implementing a refurbishment solution. The result was the installation of two LED screens from INFiLED’s MV series.

The objective of the project was clear: to replace the previous systems with a brighter, more dynamic LED technology capable of delivering superior image quality. The new screens needed to capture audience attention and enhance the experience across all types of events, including live sports broadcasts, replays, concerts, and other content. They also had to ensure consistent performance under all lighting conditions typical of an outdoor stadium, from direct sunlight during the day to artificial lighting at night.

Before defining the new solution, AUVISYS had to address an initial challenge: the support structures of the old screens showed a high level of corrosion. The team carried out sandblasting, repainting, and structural adjustments to restore them to optimal condition. This process was facilitated by the lighter weight of INFiLED’s MV series panels compared to the previous installation.

The existing structures had deteriorated over time, and that was the first challenge we had to resolve. Thanks to the fact that the MV series panels are much lighter, we were able to reuse the supports instead of replacing them entirely, which allowed us to move forward more efficiently and keep to the project schedule, explains Christophe Vallée, Managing Director of AUVISYS.

INFiLED’s MV series was selected for its combination of outdoor performance and installation advantages. Each of the two screens measures 9 x 5 metres and delivers a brightness of 8,000 nits, ensuring clear and visible images in any lighting condition.

The system uses an aluminium profile structure, lighter and slimmer than traditional die-cast or sheet metal designs, and features IP65 certification on both the front and rear, ensuring protection against dust, moisture, UV radiation, and temperature variations typical of an outdoor environment.

Wide viewing angles ensure consistent image quality for all spectators, regardless of their position in the stadium. In addition, high colour depth processing enables smooth transitions and accurate colour reproduction—key factors for broadcast-quality content and for maintaining audience engagement.

The stadium needed screens capable of delivering reliable performance in any condition, with image quality in line with the level of events it hosts. The MV series gave us the confidence to meet all the project requirements, says Christophe Vallée.

In a venue hosting more than 100 events per year, long-term reliability is just as important as initial performance. The MV series is designed with continuous maintenance in mind: its modules are interchangeable, making servicing easier and reducing both downtime and operational costs. In addition, the aluminium structure offers greater durability compared to traditional magnesium panels, with improved resistance to vibrations and the demands of a constantly operating stadium environment.

Since installation, the screens have proven their effectiveness across the stadium’s full programme, with a very positive response.

The new screens deliver a far more immersive experience for all attendees, whether sports fans or concert audiences. We are very proud of the result and grateful for the support of the INFiLED team throughout the project, concludes Vallée.
