A new interactive space that combines digital multimedia art and technology

The high-performance Christie® 1DLP@ laser projectors from the HS series illuminate and decorate immersive exhibition spaces throughout the X Museum, a new interactive space in South Korea that combines digital multimedia art and technology.

Located in the coastal city of Sokcho, in the northeast of the country, this impressive exhibition space is known as an "immersive new media playground." Since its official opening in August, the Museum X has become a popular destination for both the local population and tourists. With an area of 1,750 square meters, the venue is divided into four zones and 16 experiential installations where visitors can explore bright and colorful exhibits showcasing dynamic themes.

Christie's trusted partner, SNC Alliance, supplied 34 laser projectors, including the Christie 4K7-HS with 4K UHD resolution, along with the DWU760-iS and DWU960-iS models from the Inspire Series. The local systems integrator, Ten Square, strategically installed them throughout the venue.

To adapt to diverse spaces, Christie's HS and Inspire Series projectors are chosen to ensure that visitors can experience seamless integration of art and technology with unparalleled color reproduction and without compromising image quality. The 4K7-HS projectors are particularly suitable for this project, as they excel in challenging installations with space constraints. In addition, the versatile Inspire Series, with a dust-resistant IP5X optical engine and silent operation, complements the installation. Both projector models offered uncomplicated installation and enhanced the art and visual colors of the exhibition with optimal features, says Dong-Woo Lee, CEO of SNC Alliance.

Fascinating images and artworks created by XORBIS come to life in various exhibition areas. In the Ensemble zone, a fascinating fusion of artificial intelligence and art unfolds, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in a media cocoon where their digital drawings come to life as if by magic. Illuminated by eight Christie DWU760-iS projectors, the artworks are displayed with captivating chromatism and colors that elevate the visual experience.

The Surround zone, a semi-spherical and cylindrical space, evokes multiple senses by merging the sea with space. Visitors enjoy panoramic views of the cosmic landscape, crystal blue sea, and vibrant sunset clouds that vividly fill the room. Eight Christie 4K7-HS and DWU960-iS laser projectors, subtly installed, enhance the overall experience and transport visitors to fantasy realms with hyper-realistic images of magnificent skies and underwater worlds.

In the Symphony zone, visitors seated on a massive bench immerse themselves in a dreamy and mysterious atmosphere that highlights iconic urban and natural landscapes throughout Korea. Through spectacular projections, six different themes come to life with 18 DWU760-iS laser projectors installed on the ceiling. These projectors offer bright and realistic images that transform walls and floors to create an immersive experience.

We are delighted that Museum X has chosen Christie's HS and Inspire Series projectors to illuminate its extensive exhibition spaces. This project serves as a testament to the diverse capabilities of our laser projectors, catering to a range of needs and preferences. We are confident that these professional-quality products will captivate visitors with stunning images, enhancing the museum's overall experience in the years to come, comments Paul Lee, Sales Director for Christie's Enterprise division in Korea.
