Oasis reborn under CHAUVET Professional lighting, merging nostalgia with innovation on tour

“See you next year”, shouted Liam Gallagher to some 90,000 ecstatic fans at Wembley Stadium, closing the September 28th concert, part of the global Live ’25 tour. His words sparked a wave of excitement and hope throughout the music world.

Oasis had not reunited in 16 years until the start of this 41-date tour across five continents, which began on July 4th in Cardiff and will conclude on November 23rd in São Paulo, Brazil. The excitement surrounding the possibility of the British band continuing beyond this tour is understandable, especially given the audience’s enthusiastic response to a show lasting over two hours and featuring 23 songs that powerfully revive the best of the Britpop era.

With moments that see Liam, dressed in his signature hooded sweatshirt, performing classics like Hello while Noel dazzles on guitar, the band achieves a deep emotional connection with the audience. As one critic noted, the concert “brought grown men in the stadium to tears, overjoyed to hear these songs live once again”.

The person responsible for creating the immersive atmosphere that enhances this connection is Paul Normandale of Light Alternative Design. His visual concept combines geometric patterns inspired by the Oasis logo with a broad palette of vivid colors, achieving a contemporary, crisp, and intense look that remains warm and inviting.

Normandale’s design works in close harmony with the imagery projected on a 100-meter-wide video wall, created by Chris Curtis (I’m Your Boss Films) and Neil “Shop” Harris.

A set of 200 COLORado PXL Bar 16 fixtures from CHAUVET Professional accentuates the geometric patterns of the design, adding a three-dimensional effect. At times, these patterns are also reflected on the video wall, where images are divided into multiple sections.

The idea was to ensure that everyone could enjoy the band’s iconic return; that’s why we used a large rear screen that allows content and live IMAG to blend in various ways throughout the show, explains Normandale.

The lighting design also includes 80 Color STRIKE M motorized strobe washes, which, like the COLORado battens, were supplied by Lite Alternative (Blackburn, UK). Suspended above the stage and spanning the video wall, these high-output fixtures highlight key moments with intense light and strobe effects while engaging the audience through ambient illumination.

Normandale, who works alongside lighting designer Graham Feast, video director Jon Shrimpton, and content lead Ant Gordon, praises the Color STRIKE M for its reliability and brightness“They are a bright and consistent source of light that adds energy during strobe effects, making the audience — an essential part of the show — feel even more immersed in the experience”.

Indeed, the audience has not only been a key part of this experience but has left each performance fascinated and eager for more from this legendary band. And who knows… next year, that wish might just come true.
