At SB Audience we are excited about this new addition to our expanding range of transducers. ROSSO-6MW150D belongs to the ROSSO family of drivers where we aim to achieve great performance but with a sharp eye on keeping the cost reasonable leading to an exceptional performance/cost ratio.
We wanted to build a Midwoofer that was versatile enough to function as a midwoofer but maintaining very flat and extended frequency response also successfully functioning as an extended midrange driver. ROSSO-6MW150D uses a FEM optimised ferrite motor system with a distortion reducing ring - represented by the “D” at the end of the name representing “Demodulation feature”.
The powerful motor is mounted on a cast open vented frame with further venting under the spider. Special attention to cone geometry and the critical surround and cone/surround transition as well as a new proprietary coating which all adds up to an unusually flat frequency response while still maintaining great dynamics.
ROSSO-6MW150D is versatile as a very nice Midwoofer for monitors or powerful small club or cafe satellite speakers
For larger systems the transducer works really well in horn applications with phenomenal midrange reproduction. The concave dust cap is a great attribute for easy integration and design of compression/phase plug designs.
