Astera launched its innovative product QuikBeam, a new member of its QuikFamily, designed and developed to deliver maximum intensity in the smallest, lightest and most robust form factor.
QuikBeam: quick and compact
Suitable for any lighting application, QuikBeam stands out in its category as an ultra-bright, fast-to-install Fresnel spotlight with a 13 to 60 degree zoom, swappable batteries and a practical plug-and-play system. It also features Astera’s Titan LED Engine, ensuring flawless colour mixing, high light quality and excellent CRI/TLCI performance.
QuikBeam is flexible and portable thanks to new smart features introduced by Astera’s R&D team:
- QuikBrick: swappable battery system. QuikBrick is a replaceable battery system that eliminates downtime for charging. When needed, batteries can easily be swapped directly on site, for example when a unit returns from rental or a demo. Spare batteries can also be kept charging and replaced instantly, ensuring the fixtures are always ready for immediate use.
- PoE connectivity (Power over Ethernet). PoE connectivity via EtherCON enables more efficient installations by combining power and data in a single cable, with a range of up to 100 metres, ideal for remote prepping and sACN/ArtNet control at shows and events.
- Versatile zoom and HotBeam effect. With a highly versatile zoom and an extra narrow beam, HotBeam delivers clean, highly defined beams, ideal for precise uplighting, accenting or highlighting elements and set pieces. HotBeam provides exceptional output and central intensity beyond 13 degrees for situations requiring maximum punch with a perfectly rounded beam.

Part of the new QuikFamily generation
QuikBeam joins the already popular QuikSpot and QuikPunch launched over the last 18 months, helping redefine the art of precision LED lighting for events and broadcast applications.
While QuikPunch can be used on stage or for wall washing, QuikSpot offers the best power-to-size ratio for versatile events, and QuikBeam delivers the most elegant yet powerful look as a discreet uplight.
The fixtures can also be used for eye-catching effects and twinkling pixel mapping on stage, as well as Fresnels for television or theatrical PCs.
QuikBeam has been developed following extensive feedback from lighting designers, technicians, installers, rental companies — where quick turnarounds are essential — and venues, bringing new levels of flexibility and workflow efficiency to professional lighting setups.
Mounting options
Like all Astera products, QuikBeam offers a variety of mounting options. The yoke can be attached or removed quickly, and the spotlight includes a rear kickstand for added stability. It also features an Airline track on the yoke for easily adding accessories such as TrackPin, TrackPin Compact or TrackSpigot 28/16. Additional holes allow fixation with stage clamps or threaded bolts. The housing includes a standard 3/8” thread, characteristic of the Quik family, as well as an additional ¼” thread, ideal for smaller pins or tripod mounting.

Beam control is key to achieving precise and adaptable lighting. QuikBeam incorporates a 13 to 60 degree zoom, the same as QuikSpot and QuikPunch, with the integrated “QuikTurn” adjustment system for fast and easy angle changes. In addition, an extra click beyond 13 degrees activates the HotBeam effect, ideal when an even narrower and more powerful beam is required, for example to highlight objects or improve reach in uplighting applications.
To expand shaping possibilities, the fixture can be equipped with ultra-light barn doors featuring the SafetyLink system. An EdgeSoftener filter can also be inserted at the front to recreate the classic look of a traditional Fresnel. Finally, a rotatable elliptical filter allows the beam shape and orientation to be adjusted without physically rotating the entire fixture.
Expanded charging options
Charging possibilities are greatly expanded thanks to its swappable battery system.
The ChargingDock allows up to four batteries to be charged simultaneously using a single TRUE1 cable, and each battery includes a charge status indicator. In addition, the battery features a USB-C port for fast charging, which can even be used as an emergency power bank for a mobile phone.

QuikBeam can also be charged directly via PoE (Power over Ethernet) with the QuikBrick battery installed, either in the fixture itself, in the 4-unit flight case or through the NetBox. The device can also be hardwired using a PowerInjector supply, which also charges the battery when inserted.
NetBox includes full PrepBox functionality, similar to the charging systems for QuikSpot and QuikPunch. It allows up to four units to be connected via EtherCON and controlled or powered at distances of up to 100 metres. It can also be installed on truss structures with an additional bracket.
QuikBeam can also be used hardwired even without a battery. In this case, to maintain IP65 protection, the battery cover is removed and fits neatly into the compartment, ensuring proper sealing. NetBox is also IP65 rated when used with EtherCON connectors.
As PoE is a widely used industry standard, any PoE switch can be used to power QuikBeam or charge the battery when installed in the fixture.

Control within the Astera ecosystem
In terms of control, QuikBeam integrates seamlessly into the Astera ecosystem, maintaining the same operating options as the rest of the range. It can be controlled via:
