Light Craft has invested in Avolites control systems, particularly for its moving light systems. Avolites has been the preferred choice for Light Craft for many years thanks to its power, flexibility, and stability, qualities that enable lighting crews to be as adaptable and efficient as possible.
The current inventory includes three Avolites flagship D9 consoles and one of the new D7-330s, which has been added recently, along with around 30 smaller Avolites consoles — Pearl, Tiger Touch, Quartz, and Arena — all supplied over the past ten years by Avolites’ Indian distributor, Integrated Entertainment Solutions (IES), led by its founder and owner, Rasesh Parekh.
Light Craft was founded in 2011 by CEO Arjun Singh, who pioneered the introduction of moving and intelligent lighting into the film and advertising industry in India — a trend that quickly took hold and continues in this competitive and innovative market.
The company’s extensive warehouse is located in the Goregaon suburb of Mumbai, close to Film City, where much of the activity and excitement of Indian filmmaking takes place.
Light Craft project manager Rohan Tambe — also a lighting designer — explains that the straightforward logic and ease of use of Avolites’ Titan software and programming architecture make it ideal for high-pressure environments in advertising, film, and television.
These are environments where changes need to be made quickly and often at very short notice, which is why the concept of moving lighting and flexible control has driven a shift in mindset and approach to lighting over the past two decades.
What was historically a heavy and time-consuming operation requiring large crews and bulky equipment is now — thanks to moving lighting and DMX control — a streamlined, agile process that can be executed in minutes if circumstances change… or if the director wants to explore new ideas.
Light Craft’s working style has always been about finding fast and smart solutions for directors of photography, gaffers, and directors, and Avolites products help us achieve that goal, notes Rohan.
Among the Titan software features that Light Craft finds most valuable is the Key Frame Shape Generator, a powerful effects engine that enables fast programming across multiple fixtures.
Rohan believes that Avolites’ latest console developments represent a new era and are moving in the right direction, and he feels that the hardware is suitable “for any camera environment”.
Referring specifically to the increased portability of the D7 and the recent compact, “briefcase-sized” D3 series, he comments: “These consoles look great and allow us to work fast and react quickly, which is the essence of lighting on any set or project”. He also highlights how Avolites’ history and heritage reinforce the brand’s integrity, especially with 2026 in mind, when Avolites will celebrate its 50th anniversary.
As a company, Light Craft has a large team of talented technicians and programmers who have been working with Avolites control for years, are familiar with its architecture, and are excited to see the brand growing and gaining prominence once again.
Rohan underlines the importance of the local distributor in any brand relationship: “It’s about more than just doing business; our industry is people-, service-, and relationship-driven, and we know that IES is there for us, whatever the time or day”.
IES offers training programmes and initiatives for Avolites users, which Light Craft has taken full advantage of, to the point that the company now has its own trainers to guide new programmers joining the team.
The Avo system is straightforward to learn and easy to use, the show files are stable, and it allows us to react quickly and efficiently when lighting changes are required, concludes Rohan.
