YES TECH MT weathers the storm at Antonis Remos’ 30th anniversary

D&P Audiovisual installed 640 m² of YES TECH LED for Antonis Remos’ free 30th anniversary concert in Thessaloniki, in front of more than 300,000 people. Hours earlier, a storm knocked the transparent MT screen about, yet every panel came back on.

On 12 September 2026, Greek singer Antonis Remos celebrated 30 years in music with a free outdoor concert at Thessaloniki’s New Waterfront. Greek media described it as one of the largest concerts ever held in the country.

640 m² of YES TECH LED: 380 m² of MT P3.9–7.8 and 260 m² of MG9 P3.9.

A transparent screen in front of Alexander the Great

Remos grew up in Thessaloniki, so the anniversary concert was a homecoming. The stage was built directly in front of the statue of Alexander the Great on the New Waterfront, with three MT video walls: a 23 m × 9 m main screen and two 9 m × 9 m side screens.

With around 50% transparency, MT allowed the concert visuals to run across the screens while the statue remained clearly visible behind them. LED content and landmark coexisted throughout the show, keeping the link between the performance, the city and its surroundings.

Then the weather turned

Heavy rain began at around 18:00, followed by a sudden deterioration in the weather. The floor truss bracing the MT screen broke, and the screen was blown around for about 15 minutes.

We had a power cable, a Cat6 cable, and a signal loop cable cut; we changed these, and after 2 hours, the show started with all panels working great! To be honest, I was expecting many panels to be off, but all worked!, D&P Audiovisual explained.

MT is designed for rental and outdoor use, combining a lightweight structure with a robust frame and IP65 protection. The concert started shortly after 21:30 with all LED panels working normally, and Greek media described it as an impressive outdoor musical spectacle.

“For the Concert of ANTONIS REMOS 30-year celebration we did, the MT screen was excellent”, D&P Audiovisual added.

Not its first tough outdoor job

On an earlier DIFF project, MT was used for six weeks in a coastal environment, exposed to salt spray, rain and sun, and kept a stable visual performance on the event day. For YES TECH, both cases show the conditions LED displays face outside controlled environments, where reliability matters as much as image quality.

Products used: YES TECH MT P3.9–7.8 (380 m²) and YES TECH MG9 P3.9 (260 m²).
