Roland Professional A/V has announced the VC-1SC-4K, a professional 4K 60p video converter/scaler. The VC-1SC-4K streamlines 4K video conversion and simplifies the setup of LED walls and other display systems for both live event productions and fixed installations.
Applications using LED displays with varying resolutions and non-16:9 aspect ratios are becoming increasingly common across production, commercial installation and AV rental environments. The VC-1SC-4K addresses these requirements with a practical hardware interface that delivers high-quality processing and fast, intuitive operation.
Housed in a compact and rugged metal chassis manufactured in Japan, the VC-1SC-4K offers 10-bit 4:4:4 processing and support for 12G-SDI and HDMI 2.0, enabling seamless conversion between HD and 4K sources in different formats. It also supports audio embedding and de-embedding via balanced XLR inputs and outputs, ensuring reliable integration with professional AV systems.

A dedicated multi-platform control application allows users to quickly adjust screen resolution, aspect ratio, ROI (Region of Interest) cropping and other parameters. The signal monitoring function displays the status of video and audio signals, while built-in test pattern generators simplify setup and troubleshooting. Thanks to the library function, users can store and recall configurations both offline and on-site, as well as easily share data with other members of the installation team.
