Just a few months ahead of IBC2026, the organization has unveiled some of the key themes that will define this year's edition of the show, with a strong focus on the growing role of artificial intelligence in audiovisual production, technological innovation for the broadcast industry, and initiatives to develop the next generation of media technology professionals.
Among the highlights is Q-Stream Alpha: The "Tactical Truth" Pipeline, one of the projects within the IBC Accelerators programme. The initiative combines artificial intelligence, machine learning, predictive networking and post-quantum encryption to strengthen authenticity and trust in live production workflows by applying C2PA principles.

AI takes center stage in production workflows
IBC also explores the growing role of artificial intelligence in sports production and the new models of technological collaboration that will shape this year's event. The IBC Accelerators programme, now one of the cornerstones of Future Tech, continues to drive open innovation projects involving manufacturers, broadcasters and technology companies. Since its launch in 2019, the programme has delivered more than 53 proof-of-concept (PoC) projects with the participation of over 430 organizations.
Also among the featured stories is the AI research partnership between Google DeepMind and independent film studio A24, aimed at exploring new applications of artificial intelligence in audiovisual content creation.

Wimbledon and the evolution of sports production
The edition also includes an analysis of the coverage of Wimbledon 2026, where ESPN is preparing a record-breaking production for one of the most important sporting events on its calendar. The US broadcaster holds the exclusive rights to the tournament in the United States through 2035 and continues to strengthen its commitment to premium-quality coverage alongside Wimbledon Broadcast Services (WBS).
A study to strengthen the industry's talent pipeline
Another initiative announced by IBC is the launch of the study How Did You Get Here?, developed in collaboration with Women in Streaming Media, IAMT, SMPTE, RISE Academy and the Media Talent Manifesto. The aim is to gain a better understanding of how professionals enter the media technology industry and which factors help them build successful careers.

Looking ahead to this year's event, IBC has introduced a new online planning tool that enables visitors to create a personalized itinerary based on their professional profile and interests. The platform recommends exhibitors, conference sessions and event highlights to help optimize visits to IBC2026, which will once again bring together the global media, entertainment and technology industries.
The organization has also highlighted several featured exhibitors taking part in IBC2026, including Agile TV, Coemar, TVU Networks, Haivision, ROE Visual and Interra Systems. These companies will showcase their latest solutions for broadcast production, OTT, video connectivity, professional lighting, LED display technology and quality control for IP-based workflows.
