The Recording Academy Producers & Engineers Wing will present the panel “Grammy SoundTables®: Songs That Changed My Life” at AES Show Nashville 2026, on Saturday 31 October at 4:00 p.m. CDT on the main stage of the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center.
Moderated by Grammy-nominated producer and engineer Jeff Balding (Eagles, Thomas Rhett, Taylor Swift, Shania Twain), the panel features Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins (Michael Jackson, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga), Alison Brown (Bobby Osborne, Peter Rowan, Claire Lynch), Jordan Hamlin (Indigo Girls, Missy Higgins, Rachael Yamagata) and Chuck Ainlay (George Strait, Miranda Lambert, Dire Straits).
The panellists will discuss the songs and recordings that left a lasting impression on them and how those influences still shape their creative decisions and approach to recording: memorable performances, distinctive production techniques and the emotional power of a lyric or arrangement.
Some songs top the charts, others become personal favorites, and a few change our lives forever. Our panelists take a closer look at their favorite recordings, exploring what caught their ears, stirred their emotions, and made a lasting impact, said Jeff Balding.
Graham Kirk, AES Show Nashville Chair, added: “Exploring the sounds that inspired them gives us a deeper appreciation for how those influences continue to shape the music we make and hear today.”
AES Show Nashville 2026 runs from 30 October to 1 November at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center.
