Under the starry Aegean sky, the audience was swept away by a wave of warm and nostalgic memories during Petros Iakovidis’ performance at the Oinoforos Estate music festival. “It was the soundtrack of our hearts,” wrote a Greek music critic.
No one at the festival would have disagreed, nor would the thousands of fans who filled every venue of the 2025 summer tour of the renowned singer and multi-instrumentalist.
In perfect harmony with that “soundtrack”, Konstantinos Ntovas created an evocative and constantly evolving lighting design, controlled with a ChamSys MagicQ MQ250M Stadium console, which enhanced every emotional nuance of the performance.
More than just a lighting design, Ntovas’s work was a true visual narrative that combined light and video to transform the perception of height and depth on stage. By varying angles, brightness, and contrast levels, the experienced ChamSys user created a wide range of atmospheres that reflected and amplified the mood of each song.
“My intention was to enrich the overall setup by adding LED screen columns and playing with both the height and the depth of the stage”, explained Konstantinos, who arranged his stage in three levels with columns differing in height by half a meter (1.6, 1.8, and 2 meters).
Each column was positioned slightly in front of the other, creating a layered effect. The content displayed on them was highly dynamic — with descending light effects, particle lines, and other visuals that complemented the show’s energy and ensured a wide variety of visual moods, he added.

Regarding the color palette, Ntovas noted that he selected it based on the music and the emotions it evoked in him: “My goal is to translate those feelings into a visual experience, so that the audience not only hears the music but also feels it through color and light”.
Konstantinos controlled the show using ChamSys in combination with Art-Net and a media server. He highlighted the speed and ease with which he could manage the server through the console’s dedicated media window.
There were many features of the MQ250M that were essential. The motorized faders, the save levels, and the top keypad with flash buttons were especially important. But I must say that the small built-in display of the 250 proved to be a huge help during the show. It provides great comfort, not only in terms of physical space on the console but also in workflow. The save level function is an invaluable feature of the Stadium series, and I relied on it heavily throughout the performance, he commented.
Thanks to these and other features, Ntovas managed to give visual form to the music, allowing the audience to “see what they were hearing”. And what they were hearing was, without a doubt, the soundtrack of the most special moments of their lives.
