The Stars 80 Forever tour has returned with a refreshed production that combines iconic 1980s music with a modern lighting design created by Damien Dufaitre of BlackMoon. At the heart of this design are 38 Infinity Furion FX402 Bars, supplied by MPM Audiolight.
This successful concert series brings together renowned artists such as Sabrina, Jean-Pierre Mader, Patrick Hernandez, Phil Barney, Vivien Savage, Joniece Jamison, and William of Début de Soirée, alongside special guest Michael Jones and members of Émile & Images. Designed as an interactive experience, the show invites audiences to sing and dance along to the decade’s greatest hits.
Dufaitre chose the Furion FX402 Bar for its versatility and creative flexibility. Equipped with ten individually controllable tilting heads, the fixture allows the light output to be split into dynamic shapes and movements across the stage.

The era of simple light beams and traditional wash effects is over. With the Furion FX402 Bar, you can create vortices, spirals, curves, and many other effects from a single fixture, he says.
Its integrated strobe pixels also played a key role, enabling additional visual effects and allowing the fixture to function as a moving LED element. Furthermore, testing with a horizontal arrangement expanded its creative possibilities even further, resulting in fresh and distinctive visual effects.

Budget and reliability are essential factors in this process. Having used the FX402 Bar on multiple productions, Dufaitre continues to explore new applications for the fixture. For him, it represents much more than just a lighting tool.
