Adamson has announced the launch of VGx, the new large-format full-range system that becomes the most powerful and advanced model in the renowned Vergence Group series.
Building on the transducer, wave shaping and amplification innovations first introduced with VGt, the new VGx represents the brand’s highest technological achievement in acoustic performance, efficiency and control.
According to Adamson, VGx has been designed to outperform any current market benchmark in terms of sound pressure level, clarity, size-to-weight ratio and energy efficiency, establishing itself as the highest-performing system ever developed by the company.
The new VGx incorporates three M140 midrange transducers and three NH3-V-16 compression drivers mounted on a new coaxial mid-high assembly with 3° dispersion. Adamson’s development team has fully optimized this geometry, achieving up to 1.5 dB of additional headroom per element compared to VGt.
For low frequencies, the system integrates a new 18” dual voice coil driver designed to deliver a solid and extremely controlled response. In addition, the ND13-S transducer previously used in VGt now handles low-frequency support and directional control functions through a lateral side-firing configuration within the new VGx.
One of the most remarkable aspects of the new system is its cardioid performance. VGx achieves up to 22 dB of rear rejection across its entire bandwidth, surpassing even the already renowned performance of VGt. For applications requiring different acoustic behavior, Adamson also offers omnidirectional presets.

VGx integrates a new Class D amplification module designed specifically for this system. The architecture uses two full-bridge channels dedicated exclusively to the low-frequency section and four half-bridge channels for the remaining transducers, ensuring wide dynamic margins and maximum operational stability.
Alongside VGx, Adamson is also introducing two new subwoofers that expand the Vergence Group ecosystem. VGd is the largest-format subwoofer ever developed within the series. Designed to match the enormous SPL of the full-range systems, it incorporates two front-facing SD21.5 transducers and two rear-facing SD18 transducers in a dedicated cardioid configuration, delivering extremely high performance relative to its size. Meanwhile, VGo uses the same technology and architecture, although in a compact format featuring a single 21” front driver paired with an 18” directional element. Both models integrate onboard Class D amplification, integrated rigging systems and playback capability down to 27 Hz.
Two years of successful Vergence Group deployments have generated enormous interest in even larger systems within the platform. VGx systems have already completed months of testing on major international tours and events, and they will be featured on important global tours in the coming months.
