Outline enhances ISAAC's capabilities with new tuning and diagnostic features

Outline has announced the availability of ISAAC version 1.3.0, the latest update to its cross-platform control application for the management and configuration of systems based on the Newton processor.

We have refined the algorithms behind our EQ filter section. This results in greater processing accuracy and efficiency, while adding phase response control across all filter types. The update also includes an improved graphical representation and a new zoom function that makes fine EQ adjustments even more precise, explains Andrea Ippolito, Software Developer at Outline.

However, the new features go beyond the software's internal processing. "We have also introduced significant improvements to the user experience", says Gabriele Maucione, Software Developer at Outline. "These include new dialogue functions for Input Patch and Output Patch assignments, providing more immediate feedback to user actions, as well as a new Ripple feature capable of recursively cascading multiple elements across channels, making system configuration faster and more streamlined".

Paolo Calza, Application Engineer at Outline, also highlights two new features designed to simplify the work of audio professionals:

A seamless interaction with users adds real value to a device like Newton, which has been designed from the outset for the most demanding professionals. They can now benefit from two additional tools: the ability to report bugs directly from ISAAC via a form on our website, and Newton's 'status dump' function, which exports all system parameters to a file. This allows Outline's technical team to carry out remote diagnostics from our headquarters without the need to connect directly to the device.

In addition, the update introduces another user experience enhancement: the software's About window now includes a summary of the key features added in each release, allowing users to quickly review the latest changes without having to access the version history files distributed with every software update.

A small improvement that further reinforces one of the main goals of Outline Newton: delivering an even faster and more efficient workflow, because in live sound, every second counts.
