At NAMM 2024, DAS Audio unveiled the latest additions to their acclaimed ARA Series. The new ARA-P12.74 was a compact self-powered point source system featuring a 12-inch LF driver and a 3-inch VCD HF compression driver, 96kHz FIR filters, and powered by 1200 Watts of Class D amplification.
ARA-P28.74 was a point source system which featured dual 8-inch drivers, a 3-inch VCD compression driver, with 96kHz FIR processing and 1200 Watts of power. Both products also came with new accessories to mount them in virtually any scenario and featured a rotatable horn for optimal coverage. This combination of the custom transducer and new compression driver ensured that the ARA- P12.74 delivered an audio experience that was both powerfully resonant and richly detailed, setting a new benchmark in point source system sound clarity and quality.
Rounding out the new products in the ARA Series was the ARA-M210, which was a dual 10-inch stage monitor, also boasting 1200 Watts and 96kHz FIR processing, with a 50 degree horizontal spread and an asymmetrical vertical dispersion of 40 degrees downward and 30 degrees upward, optimizing the monitor for a wide variety of stage set up. All of these products worked with ALMA, the control and monitoring software from DAS Audio.
Also making their debut at the NAMM show were the next generation of DAS Audio’s EVENT Series line arrays. The EVENT-28A was an ultra-compact, lightweight line array system sporting two 8-inch neodymium LF transducers and a single M-60 compression driver, powered by high-efficiency Class D amplification with SMPS. A host of high-end features included dual voltage mains for global compatibility, high-end 24 bit DSP and FIR processing, all housed in a robust and road-worthy polypropylene cabinet. The symmetric "V" shaped configuration of the cone transducers delivered consistent 100 degrees of horizontal coverage while the M-60 driver remained coupled to an advanced waveguide design, which controlled the vertical dispersion and ensured precise coupling between units in vertical arrays.
Weighing in at 44 lbs, the EVENT-28A struck an excellent balance between size, performance, and portability, making it an ideal solution for a wide array of sound reinforcement applications. The EVENT-118A was a companion subwoofer with a single 18-inch front-loaded woofer and Class D amplification. Both EVENT boxes featured compatible rigging hardware and easy system configuration via DAScontrol™.

We were really thrilled to be showing so many great new products and couldn’t wait to visit with our friends, colleagues, and customers at the NAMM show. As we said about our ARA series, ‘Epic Sound Starts Here.’ These new additions to the ARA family continued that tradition. And the evolution of our EVENT Series was equally exciting, bringing a new dimension to one of our most popular lineups. We were looking forward to showcasing these new products, both at NAMM and a week later at ISE, remarked Michael Palmer, Vice President of Sales - Pro Audio for DAS Audio North America.
