Shure announced its renewed WL18Xm range of professional lavalier condenser microphones, featuring a new, more discreet design. This range includes the cardioid WL185m, the supercardioid WL184m, and the omnidirectional WL183m, designed to be used with wireless bodypack transmitters.
This renewed range, which expands the features and performance of Shure's current WL lavalier microphone range, offers precise and comprehensive sound quality with improved frequency response. The specifications of the WL18Xm range have been enhanced to provide optimal compatibility with modern wireless systems.
The microphones in this range are specifically designed for speeches and presentations in corporate, educational, and worship environments.

The WL series has been the preferred choice for lavalier microphones for decades, known for its reliability, durability, and detailed, accurate sound. With the continuous improvement of wireless technology, there was an opportunity to innovate and enhance the industry-leading WL series with a product that meets the needs of professionals using modern digital systems on the market. It is a product already known and appreciated by users, but now it offers lower self-noise, greater RF interference immunity, a wider dynamic range, and improved maximum SPL, explains Nick Wood, Senior Director, Professional Audio Products at Shure.
The microphones in the WL18Xm range are 8 mm shorter than the previous version, making them lighter, more discreet, and easier to use. They offer great flexibility in placement on the clothing of speakers, presenters, and performers, as each lavalier microphone is available in black or white, with LEMO or TA4F connector options, and its innovative tie clip can be rotated in 90° increments for more precise mic positioning.
