During LDI 2025, Obsidian Control Systems showcased several additions to its lighting control catalog. Among the highlights were the NX W control wing, the new NX1-16 version of its modular console, and the NETRON data distribution solutions.
NX W
The NX W was presented as a PC control wing connected via USB-C, designed to expand ONYX-based systems. The device features ten motorized faders with RGB backlighting, optical buttons, RGB parameter encoders, and a built-in programming keypad. It also includes four DMX/RDM ports and a Gigabit network port, along with a 16-universe ONYX license expandable through the standard USB licensing system.
NX1-16
Obsidian also showcased the NX1-16, an updated version of the NX1 console with expanded capacity up to 16 control universes. The model retains the compact design of its predecessor but doubles the number of available universes. The console can be complemented with the NXK (keypad) and NXP (motorized wing) modules to expand its functionality according to application needs.
NETRON data distribution
The NETRON range occupied a prominent space in the presentation. Several IP66-certified units were exhibited, designed for environments requiring an additional level of protection against external agents. The devices feature cast enclosures, resistant coatings, and ports prepared for outdoor connections.
The models shown were:
- EN6 IP: six-port EtherDMX node
- RDM6 IP: six-port DMX/RDM splitter
- NS8 IP: eight-port managed PoE switch
These units expand Obsidian’s offering in signal distribution for lighting networks and hybrid DMX/Ethernet systems.
