Shure inaugurates a second manufacturing plant in Mexico

The members of the Board of Directors and Executive Team of Shure traveled to Juarez, Mexico, to inaugurate the company's second manufacturing plant in the country. In the 1980s, founder S.N. Shure personally selected this city as the location for the brand's first manufacturing plant in Mexico.

Production began on October 1, 1984, with just ten employees in a rented building. Shure moved its operations to a new facility in 1990. In 2004, the company expanded the plant space to a total of 4,500 m². The expansion continued, and by 2006 it had reached 6,400 m².

With the company's continuous growth, the time finally came to open a second unit. This facility allows for an even greater manufacturing capacity for Shure products. Over 130 employees from both plants gathered to share this special moment.

The ceremony began with a presentation by Monse Luna, HR manager of Juarez. Shure's President and CEO, Chris Schyvinck, and Juarez plant manager, Juventino Herrera, delivered a welcome speech and a brief overview of the project. Jamie Griffin, Senior Vice President and Director of Supply Chain, emphasized the importance of this facility and its impact on the company and the region.

We have a long and successful history here, and we want to continue building on this legacy as we support our customers. The team in Juarez is an integral part of the Shure family, and with the addition of this facility, the brand's story will continue here for many more years, said Griffin.

In the next decade, the startup of the facilities is expected to add up to 500 new employees.

By expanding our presence in Juarez, we can enhance the global supply chain, ensuring that products reach customers quickly and seamlessly. This additional manufacturing capacity will allow us to meet the growing demands of users, no matter where they are, said Schyvinck.

The legendary Shure SM58 Vocal Microphone is manufactured in Juarez, as well as the MICROFLEX and BETA lines, the iconic 55SH, and many wireless products such as the ULX-D, QLX-D, Axient Digital, and others.
