Uniting Voices Chicago (formerly known as Chicago Children’s Chorus), a globally recognized organization for youth empowerment and musical education, announced its tour of Mexico from June 10th to 16th, 2024.
A group of 60 talented singers from Chicago will perform in Mexico City at El Claustro de Sor Juana on Friday, June 14th, at 8 p.m., alongside El Coro Virreinal Rita Guerrero. This event is free and open to the public, thanks to the support of Shure and its official distributor in the country, Representaciones de Audio.
Shure is one of the world's largest manufacturers of all types of microphone systems and audio solutions and has been supporting and collaborating with Uniting Voices for over 12 years, as both organizations share the same principles of empowerment, diversity, and inclusion through music.

We are excited to welcome Uniting Voices Chicago to our country and to the Universidad del Claustro de Sor Juana, where we will collaborate on the baroque work 'Magnificat en Re Mayor', as well as on 'Madre, la de los primores' by the poet, scholar, and feminist who gives her name to the venue. In addition to the June 14th performance, Uniting Voices Chicago will participate in a workshop and performance as part of the Children's and Youth Choir Festival at the National Autonomous University of Mexico on Saturday, June 15th, at 6 p.m. Uniting Voices Chicago will also present a collaborative concert with Coro Jääwën, Voces del Alma, which is part of a choir network under the National Music Promotion System of Conaculta, in Oaxaca on Wednesday, June 12th.
Since its first international tour to Canada in 1967, Uniting Voices Chicago has carried a message of hope and respect to five continents, harnessing the universal soul of music to connect people from different cultures and geographies.
Uniting Voices had the privilege of being the first civilian group allowed in the Demilitarized Zone in Korea, performed for Nelson Mandela immediately after the end of apartheid in South Africa, and collaborated with Bobby McFerrin in Scandinavia. The group performed with Karol G on Saturday Night Live and at Lollapalooza and collaborated on Chance the Rapper's albums The Big Day (2019) and Coloring Book (2016).
