The NAMM Show 2027 strengthens its focus on live sound with a new technical summit

The NAMM Show 2027 will debut the TEC Tracks Live Sound Summit on Wednesday, January 27, a half-day event bringing together leading FOH engineers and technical professionals to explore the challenges and opportunities facing the live sound industry.

This new educational initiative adds to the many reasons why The NAMM Show has become a key event for industry professionals to kick off the year.

Rapidly evolving stage technologies are transforming the creative possibilities of major tours, and the TEC Tracks Live Sound Summit will be the ideal place to learn from the experience of touring professionals and stage production specialists at the forefront of this transformation. This is the kind of practical session that makes The NAMM Show an essential event for live production professionals. Focusing on the technical and operational aspects of productions touring worldwide, it will explore the technologies already in use, those on the horizon, and the growing need for sound, lighting, visuals, automation and production infrastructure to work as a single system, said John Mlynczak, NAMM president and CEO.

New training opportunities for the professional audio industry

The TEC Tracks Live Sound Summit will be one of the many educational opportunities available to audio professionals at The NAMM Show 2027.

Alongside its usual programme of high-level technical sessions, the show will offer three days of Dante training delivered by Audinate, hands-on mixing console training from several leading brands, and additional educational sessions on live sound and production led by renowned experts in touring and entertainment technology.

A strong presence of professional audio brands

Beyond its educational programme, live sound professionals will find plenty of reasons to visit the Anaheim Convention Center from January 26 to 30.

As usual, ACC North Level 2 will be home to the professional audio offering, with more brands exhibiting than ever before. Exhibitors will include DiGiCo, L-Acoustics, Adamson, RCF, QSC, Solid State Logic, Coda Audio, Meyer Sound, EAW, Lawo, HK Audio, FBT, Allen & Heath, Ashly, Outline and Electro-Voice.

Meanwhile, ACC North Level 1, with a greater focus on production, will feature exhibition booths and demonstration spaces from companies including Shure, Genelec, Avid, DPA Microphones, Blackmagic Design, Audix, Sony, AMS Neve, Fender Studio, Avalon and Sennheiser.

More demonstration spaces to experience sound systems in action

Beyond getting hands-on with new equipment, one of the main attractions of a trade show is the opportunity to hear sound systems in action and assess how they could meet the needs of future productions.

In this regard, The NAMM Show 2027 will set a new record for the number of demonstration rooms, complementing the numerous stages and performance spaces spread throughout the show venue.

Awards, performances and industry networking events

As tradition dictates, The NAMM Show will also feature an extensive programme of accompanying events, including awards ceremonies, performances by renowned artists and poolside parties.

The 2027 Parnelli Awards, hosted by Henry Rollins, will recognise excellence, achievement and commitment among live event production professionals on Friday, January 29.

Meanwhile, the TEC Awards will honour the best technological innovations on Thursday, January 28, while the She Rocks Awards will celebrate pioneering women from across the industry on Saturday, January 30.

The programme will also include the 2027 Pro Audio Pool Party, taking place on Thursday, January 28, from 7:00 p.m. by the pool at the Anaheim Marriott. All audio professionals are invited to pick up a wristband and join fellow industry members for this networking event.

The NAMM Show 2027 is shaping up to be one of the busiest and most comprehensive events of the year for live sound professionals. We can't wait to welcome everyone to Anaheim and kick off the year in style, concluded Mlynczak.
