Excitement is building ahead of the Recording Industry Golf & Poker Tournament™ 2025, which will be held in June 2025 at the Sand Canyon Country Club in Santa Clarita, CA, with a mass tee-off at 12:00 noon PDT and the Texas Hold ‘Em poker tournament beginning at 2:00 p.m.
Celebrating its tenth anniversary, the RIGT is organized by the experienced event producer Karen Dunn of KMD Productions, LLC.
Since 2015, the RIGT has served as a fun retreat for veteran recording industry professionals in Los Angeles and also attracts numerous audio students and emerging young talents from the community.
Among the surprises is an opportunity to win 1 million euros, a €10,000 prize for making a hole-in-one, a €5,000 putting contest, fun opportunities to create photographic and social media content, and the Infamous Traveling Tequila Carts. In addition, the Texas Hold ‘Em poker tournament returns, establishing itself as one of the highlights of the day.
For those not familiar with golf or lacking experience, there’s no need to worry: many participants attend just to have fun, and no one judges those playing for the first time. Dunn explains it like this:
Would you like to play golf, but don’t know how? We’ll give you the basics so you can comfortably participate with your group. Don’t have equipment or companions? We’ll match you with other players. It’s a great opportunity to meet new people, make friends, and expand your network.
Rachel Stilwell, a lawyer specializing in music/audio/IP, appears as a novice golfer at the event, marking the beginning of a new hobby for her: "I played golf for the first time at this event as a complete novice, but I was welcomed with open arms. It was such a relief! Now I’m learning to play and am surrounded by great friends".
However, many attendees prefer to participate only in the poker tournament. Before the game, a brief training session is organized to explain the basic rules and strategies, ensuring that everyone is prepared to enjoy the tournament, with prizes and plenty of guaranteed fun.
