30 years of ProAudio: on tomorrow's frequency
In the outdoor area in front of Hall 11, the public can experience professional sound reinforcement systems in the Live Sound Arena under real conditions. Manufacturers such as Amate Audio, audio zenit, Aura Audio, CELTO Acoustique SRL, DAS Audio, Harmonic Design, HK Audio, KV2 Audio, RCF, TW Audio, Voice-Acoustic, and Wharfedale Pro are demonstrating their latest PA systems. At the Silent Stage in Hall 11.0, the company “InEar” presents its innovative monitoring solutions in a live setting, supported by the event band P.A.C.E.
One of the new attractions is MusicOneX, an evolution of the Performance + Production Hub. In collaboration with the Sample Music Festival, the interdisciplinary platform offers numerous opportunities to explore the connection between music, technology, and creativity across 3,000 m² – including courses from the SAE Institute and the Production Island with its own pop-up studio. Here, participants experience firsthand how musical technology influences various areas of the entertainment and events industry.
The special area also features more than 50 brands, including Ableton, Dreamtonics, Focusrite, JICO, Kurzweil, Native Instruments, Pioneer DJ, RØDE, Serato, Steinigke, TASCAM, Technics, Yamaha, and many more.
MIXCON x BVD present DJ- & Producer Conference is a meeting point for the DJ and music scene, created in cooperation with MIXCON Germany and the German Disc Jockey Association (BVD), which brings together the most important players in the industry. The focus is on networking, business, current trends, and the exchange of ideas. In talks and panels – which include topics such as social media and music marketing, music utilization and remuneration, hearing protection, and future festivals – well-known names such as DJ Olde, Lovra, Le Shuuk, Mark Dekoda, and Tom Wax offer their expertise and fresh perspectives.
MixLab is also a novelty. This interactive special area combines live sound and studio environments. Technology enthusiasts can participate in hands-on workshops and interactive demonstrations, as well as try out the latest mixing desk technology – including leading brands such as Allen & Heath, APB Dynasonics, TASCAM, and Yamaha.
A special highlight for sound enthusiasts is the Vintage Concert Audio Show. This unique exhibition takes visitors on a journey through the history of sound reinforcement systems – from their analog beginnings, through the introduction of transistors, to the integration of modern control technologies. The format also includes talks by renowned experts and unique audio samples of selected vintage PA equipment.
New design: theatre and stage technology area
Prolight + Sound presents a redesigned and expanded theatre and stage technology area. It combines exhibition, education, knowledge transfer, and networking. Visitors can enjoy an inspiring platform for exchanging ideas with experts, along with a wide range of innovative products and services. The new Theatre Stage is the center of attention, hosting the VPLT Theatre College and the Theatre Talk, where manufacturers from other sectors present their products to a specialist theatre audience.
The Networking Area, with daily events and happy hours, creates the ideal setting for networking in a relaxed atmosphere.
Hands-on experience: Knowledge Hub
The demands on event productions are constantly increasing, as is the need for in-depth expertise. With the expanded Knowledge Hub, Prolight + Sound is creating a central point for knowledge transfer and ongoing training.
The centerpiece is the Main Stage in Hall 11.0. There, among other activities, a first-rate keynote program is on offer, in which national and international experts showcase their innovative initiatives on topics relevant to the industry – including the influence of artificial intelligence in the events sector, the design of immersive experiences, and sustainable event concepts. The latter are also part of the EVVC's Green Sessions agenda. In expert talks and panels, current developments and new approaches for a more sustainable events industry are discussed.
The three Prolight + Sound Colleges are also part of the Knowledge Hub. These include the Camera College (in cooperation with the BVFK – German Federal Association of Television Cameramen), the ProAudio College (in cooperation with the VDT – Association of German Sound Engineers), and the Theatre College (together with the VPLT – German Entertainment Technology Association). Every day, practical content on modern technologies is delivered in free bilingual specialized seminars. Participants receive written confirmation of the knowledge acquired.
The Knowledge Forum makes its debut in 2025. During the fair, the new format offers free bilingual lectures with practical knowledge, new ideas from young creative industry leaders, and exciting perspectives on current sector topics. Additionally, international experts discuss current issues in event security at the I-ESC (International Event Safety + Security Conference) – organized by VPLT – and debate them with the audience. Among other topics, mobile video surveillance, risk management, and the requirements for temporary event technology structures are covered.
Camera and video technology in focus: Image Creation Hub
Following the successful debut of the Image Creation Hub last year and the overwhelmingly positive response, the format is further expanded – becoming an even more attractive meeting point for camera professionals, video technicians, and creatives in the audiovisual sector. The area is once again organized in cooperation with the BVFK.
The Image Creation Hub now covers an area of approximately 740 m² and brings together the best of renowned exhibitors' products, important industry associations, and an expanded range of educational opportunities. With hands-on workshops led by experts, live demonstrations, and panels on current industry topics such as artificial intelligence, sustainability, and drone systems, the area becomes a hub for practical learning and networking.
Significant synergies are created in the interplay between lighting, sound, and stage technology – whether in live productions, working with drones, or the holistic approach to modern image design in the entertainment industry. The area positions itself as a dynamic link within event technology – a place where new impulses for the transmedia production of contemporary formats are generated.
Perspectives on modern light sources: LightLab
The LightLab, created in collaboration with the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW), is being held for the second time. Under the title Lightsources Backstage, experts provide insights into the special properties of modern light sources and how to use them. They also demonstrate how to compare, evaluate, and measure light sources. The limitations of modern LED technology and how to assess them using photometric data are also addressed.
Focus on professional opportunities: Campus & Career
The Future Hub in Hall 11.0 serves as the central point of contact for today's and tomorrow's professionals. Divided into Campus, Career Center, Start-up Area, and Networking Lounge, young talents and professionals connect directly with companies that have vacancies, as well as with educational institutions in the events sector. Additionally, visitors can discover innovative solutions from emerging brands. With over 1,000 job-seeking event professionals in 2023 and 2024, the area has established itself as an attractive platform for recruiting qualified personnel.
Future Talents Day enters its fourth edition in 2025. Students, apprentices, and learners are offered exciting insights into the various professional opportunities in the events industry. In addition to lectures and workshops, the schedule includes a rigging contest and the interactive azubi:web station. For students who present valid identification, free hot dogs or veggie dogs are also available. The themed day is organized by the associations of the Forum Veranstaltungswirtschaft.
Networking and standout musical moments: PLS Community Nights
Prolight + Sound invites the industry to special gatherings at the PLS Community Nights. Whether you are an exhibitor or a visitor, everyone is welcome to exchange ideas and make new connections during the three networking evenings at exclusive locations in Frankfurt. The highlight is the 30 Years of PLS birthday party at Depot 1899.
Among the special attractions for music lovers are former Kraftwerk member Wolfgang Flür with his project MusikSoldat and the DMC - German DJ Championships.
