Last days to submit projects for the Excellence in Live Design Awards

The Excellence in Live Design Awards, organized by LDI and Live Design, are accepting project submissions related to live event design and production until September 30.

The awards are aimed at projects that stand out for their creative, technical, and production contributions to the international live entertainment industry.

The call for entries seeks to give visibility to projects developed in a sector where the final result experienced by audiences depends on the coordination of numerous disciplines. Lighting, video, sound, set design, technical systems, and production are all part of a process in which creative decisions are closely linked to their technical execution.

The Excellence in Live Design Awards focus precisely on this work and on the professionals and teams responsible for turning a creative concept into a production capable of working under real-world conditions.

Visibility for all nominated projects

One of the key aspects of this call for entries is that recognition is not limited exclusively to the projects that ultimately become winners.

All nominated projects will be featured on Live Design Online and included in an email newsletter. They will also receive exposure through Live Design's social media channels.

In this way, a nomination also serves as a showcase for projects that are primarily known for the final result seen on stage, while a significant part of the technical decisions and work carried out during their preparation remains out of public view.

Nominees will also receive a complimentary pass to the LDInnovation Conference and will have a Live Design Awards ribbon on their badge during LDI. Participation in the awards is therefore directly connected to the professional event and the activities surrounding the 2026 edition.

Additional recognition for winning projects

Projects selected as winners will have additional opportunities to present their work.

These include a Q&A session with the Live Design editorial team, providing an opportunity to explore the project and the decisions made during its development in greater depth. This format makes it possible to go beyond the final presentation and address aspects related to the creative approach, technical solutions, or production process.

Winning projects will also be featured in a 90-second video and a dedicated gallery during LDI 2026. They will also be featured on selected event signage and mentioned during the LDI Awards.

This combination of editorial coverage and presence during the event makes it possible to showcase the projects from two different perspectives: as documented projects explained to a professional audience and as part of the programming and communications of an event connected to the live entertainment design and technology sector.

Showing the process behind the final result

In a live production, many of the most relevant solutions are not necessarily apparent to the audience. The integration of different systems, adaptation to the characteristics of a venue, setup and teardown requirements, and coordination between departments all influence the final result.

For this reason, documenting a project makes it possible to show not only what was done, but also how the creative and technical requirements that arose during its development were addressed.

In this context, the Excellence in Live Design Awards provide participating teams with a space to present completed projects to other industry professionals and explain projects that combine creative disciplines, technology, and production.

The initiative covers an industry in which technological advances have expanded design possibilities while also increasing the need to integrate increasingly specialized systems and equipment.
