Sphere Entertainment Co. and Disguise have announced a multi-year partnership to develop new technologies for Sphere productions.
Since Sphere opened in 2023, Disguise has been one of its technology partners, supporting live residency productions and corporate events. For these productions, Sphere uses Disguise media servers and software to process, synchronise and play back content in real time at a scale rarely seen in live entertainment.
A collaboration entering a new phase
Building on this experience, the two companies will now expand their collaboration to develop technologies and workflows designed to improve video playback capabilities and prepare Sphere for its next phase of international growth.
The first Sphere opened in Las Vegas, and new venues have already been announced in Abu Dhabi and National Harbor.
As part of the agreement, Sphere will be the first partner to bring Disguise's next-generation technology to market. The new solutions developed through this collaboration will be aimed at expanding Sphere's video capabilities and supporting the expansion of its immersive experiences to new venues.
Sphere was built to redefine live entertainment, and continuing to push the boundaries of immersive experiences requires technology partners that share our ambition. Every artist who has performed at Sphere has benefited from Disguise's technology, and we're looking forward to developing future generations of immersive productions to support our long-term vision of offering these experiences to audiences in new Sphere venues around the world, said Ryan Dolan, Executive Vice President, Head of Event & Interactive Technology at Sphere.

Technology for the next generation of immersive productions
According to Fernando Küfer, CEO of Disguise, the next phase of the collaboration will focus on expanding Sphere's video capabilities through the company's technology.
We are honoured to have Sphere's confidence in our technology and are incredibly grateful for the relationship and all the development over the last three years, said Küfer.
The Disguise CEO also highlighted the role of technology in turning artists' ideas into real productions: “When an artist imagines something the world has never seen, they should be able to reach for it and know the system can deliver”.
The partnership will enable Sphere and Disguise to continue jointly developing technologies and workflows for immersive productions as Sphere moves forward with its international expansion strategy.
