p>The recent apostolic visit of Pope Leo XIV to Spain, held from June 6 to 12, was not only one of the most important religious events of the year, but also one of the largest technical deployments ever carried out in our country.
Over seven intense days, Madrid, Barcelona and the Canary Islands hosted mass celebrations, institutional meetings and liturgical services that brought together hundreds of thousands of attendees and were followed by millions of people around the world.
Ensuring coverage of an event of this scale required coordinating a top-tier audiovisual infrastructure, in which various solutions distributed by SeeSound played a prominent role.
Madrid: Adamson delivers sound coverage for hundreds of thousands of attendees
The events held in Madrid, especially the Vigil in Lima and the great Eucharist along the Paseo del Prado and Plaza de Cibeles, featured an impressive deployment of Adamson systems, supplied by PRG España.
In total, nearly 600 Adamson enclosures were deployed, configuring one of the largest sound systems recently installed in Europe for an event of these characteristics.
For the Vigil, a main system was installed comprising:
- 24 Adamson E15 as the main system
- 24 Adamson S10 for infill
- 27 Adamson E15 for backfill
- 12 Adamson E15 as sidefill
- 24 Adamson E219 subwoofers
- Frontfill via Adamson S10P
While for the main celebration at Cibeles, up to 24 delay towers were deployed, each equipped with:
- 6 Adamson E15
- 6 Adamson E12
In addition, further systems were installed at: Plaza de Colón, Calle Alcalá and Puerta de Alcalá, ensuring uniform coverage along the entire route. This deployment made it possible to deliver excellent speech intelligibility and even coverage for hundreds of thousands of faithful.
Barcelona: DirectOut ensures audio system interoperability during the Pope's visit to Montserrat
One of the most notable moments of Leo XIV's apostolic journey was his visit to the Monastery of Montserrat, one of the main spiritual and cultural symbols of Catalonia.
To manage the event's audio infrastructure, DirectOut's PRODIGY.MP was used, a platform designed for format conversion, DSP processing and professional audio signal routing. Thanks to its ability to integrate multiple audio protocols into a single system, PRODIGY.MP made it possible to manage signal distribution and processing with complete reliability in a production of the highest technical demands, ensuring interoperability between the various pieces of equipment involved in the operation.
The platform's flexibility and robustness make it a benchmark solution for institutional events and live productions where system reliability is critical.

Canary Islands: RF communications and professional microphones for a highly complex operation
The final stages of the journey took the Pontiff to Gran Canaria and Tenerife, where a major production and broadcast operation was carried out. For this, various professional solutions distributed by SeeSound were employed.
Wireless communication
The technical team's coordination was carried out using the VOKKERO SHOW wireless system, together with private radio communication systems.
Wisycom wireless microphones
The RF system was made up of:
- Wisycom MCR54 multichannel receivers.
- MTP60 wireless bodypacks.
- MTH610 handheld microphones.
- RPU500 Full Duplex Reporter system.
- MTK982 In Ear systems and MPR50 receivers.
A configuration designed to ensure stable communications and maximum reliability in a particularly complex radio-frequency environment.
DPA Microphones
Speech capture also relied on the DPA 4098 gooseneck microphones, internationally recognized for their extraordinary intelligibility and their ability to reject ambient noise and radio-frequency interference. These characteristics make the 4098 a benchmark for parliaments, institutions and official ceremonies where every word is essential.
Technology at the service of major events
Events such as the visit of Pope Leo XIV highlight the importance of having professional solutions capable of responding reliably to productions of enormous technical complexity. Sound systems, processing platforms, wireless communications and specialized microphones work together so that millions of people can follow every celebration with the highest quality.
The solutions distributed by SeeSound were present at one of the most significant international events of the year, reaffirming the presence of its brands in some of the most demanding audiovisual projects held in Spain.
