Show da Virada is Brazil’s greatest end-of-year event, a televised special broadcasted on New Year’s Eve on Rede Globo. This year’s special featured some of the nation’s biggest music stars and hosts, including Ivete Sangalo, Wesley Safadão, Luan Santana, Simone & Simaria, Raça Negra and Thiaguinho.
The outdoor Classic Hall in Recife city served as the backdrop for the first time ever this year, and DAS Audio professional sound systems were on hand to deliver outstanding sound for this massive event.
Event Audio Systems, directed by Kleiton Carlos, was contracted to design and supply a sound system that could rise to the technical challenge that a show of this magnitude implies. With the help of Fernando Nanao, DAS Audio Technical Manager for Latin America, the team curated a sound system using DAS Audio’s proprietary software and an extensive amount of gear drawn from the Spanish manufacturer’s deep product catalog.
The setup designed by Event Audio Systems included a combination of 40 AERO-40A powered and 24 AERO-20A high-performance line arrays, flown in clusters for the main PA. These systems include the manufacturer’s proprietary DASaim™ software to optimize the complex acoustic interaction between loudspeakers and enhance the listening experience for the audience. The result is even frequency response and uniform coverage throughout the entire audience area, crucial for a production like the Show da Virada.

With DASaim™ software, managing to maintain a constant 110dbA of pressure across the entire 15,000 m² venue, the result was really good. Both the event organizers and the sound technicians had nothing but positive feedback when asked about the sound for the show.
