A casino, 60 subwoofers and 1 SOUND’s ambitious project at Paris Las Vegas

Paris Las Vegas Hotel & Casino has upgraded its audio infrastructure with a distributed solution covering the gaming floor, lobby, and retail areas. The project is part of the improvements implemented by Caesars Entertainment following the renovation of Caesars Palace.

After expressing interest in learning more about 1 SOUND’s solutions, Caesars Entertainment was introduced to Global AV Group, which partnered with the manufacturer to design and integrate a distributed audio solution tailored to the property's unique architectural and operational requirements.

The existing system had served the property for decades, but the objective was not simply to replace aging equipment. Caesars wanted to create a more engaging and immersive environment that reflected the energy of the venue while maintaining excellent intelligibility throughout the expansive space.

The Paris Hotel system had been in operation for around 30 years. Following the renovation of Caesars Palace, the team wanted to offer guests a different experience, with high-quality, high-impact audio, explains Jason Ojeda of Global AV Group.

A demonstration that defined the design

Before finalizing the project, Global AV Group was asked to present its proposal through an on-site loudspeaker comparison. For this purpose, the company brought a customized Level 35 loudspeaker from 1 SOUND to compete against another solution that was also being evaluated.

Through 1 SOUND’s Custom Shop service, Global AV Group was able to add an extra level of customization by adapting the finish of the Level 35 to visually blend into the environment. 1 SOUND provided a custom color match and delivered the customized loudspeaker within just one week, allowing Caesars Entertainment to evaluate both its acoustic performance and its aesthetic integration within the space.

The demonstration quickly set the direction for the project. “We chose the Level 35 because it fit perfectly on the columns”, says Ojeda. “Once we installed it for the demonstration and experienced both the sound and the aesthetics, the decision was made”. That successful test became the foundation of the property's new audio strategy.

Designed for a challenging environment

The gaming floor presented several acoustic challenges. Large open areas, decorative columns, and expansive dome ceilings required a system capable of delivering intelligibility and impact without allowing sound to become lost within the architecture.

Using Auralis acoustic modeling software, Global AV Group developed a distributed design based on 1 SOUND’s Level Series loudspeakers and subwoofers. The system was designed to keep sound close to guests rather than relying on loudspeakers mounted at significant heights. “The progressive horn was a key factor”, notes Ojeda. “It helped us provide intelligibility across the entire casino floor”.

According to Lou Mannarino, founder and chief designer of 1 SOUND, the Level Series proved well suited to this project thanks to its progressive horn design and its ability to cover long distances while maintaining a discreet visual presence.

The asymmetrical horn and its dispersion pattern allow sound to be projected over long distances in a controlled manner. The system reaches between 40 and 50 feet before gradually widening its coverage around the columns, achieving the intended sound distribution, explains Mannarino.

Installed throughout the gaming floor and integrated into the building’s architectural elements, the Level loudspeakers provide the required coverage without visually dominating the space.

Bringing energy to the property

The final installation incorporated Level 35, Level 38, and Cannon C6 loudspeakers, together with SUB28 and WSUB45i subwoofers, creating a distributed audio system tailored to the different needs of the gaming floor, hospitality areas, and retail spaces.

Level 35 loudspeakers and SUB28 subwoofers were deployed throughout the casino and lobby areas. In higher-activity spaces such as the main bar, Level L38 loudspeakers provide additional output, while wall-mounted subwoofers deliver low-frequency reinforcement where space constraints prevent the installation of conventional subwoofers.

“The Level 35s blend into the decorative elements”, says Mannarino. “And the SUB28s can be hidden behind various machines and pieces of furniture”.

Beyond the gaming floor, the project also extended to Le Boulevard, the Paris Las Vegas retail promenade featuring boutiques, restaurants, and cafés. Cannon loudspeakers were installed throughout the area to create a consistent audio experience as visitors move between the different spaces within the property.

From the moment visitors enter the venue, the audio experience remains cohesive and uninterrupted, helping to create a unified atmosphere throughout the resort. “We designed a high-fidelity music playback system”, says Ojeda. “In addition, we incorporated 60 subwoofers distributed throughout the property to provide powerful reproduction and greater low-frequency presence”.

The result is an environment where music actively contributes to the overall guest experience and establishes a new energy standard for the brand rather than simply serving as background sound.

Thenext phase of the audio upgrade

Global AV Group led the system design and integration, while 1 SOUND provided design support, final tuning, and commissioning to ensure the system performed exactly as intended.

The results have exceeded expectations. “Since the system was installed, it has operated efficiently every day”, says Ojeda. “We have not received a single call to return to the site, and everything is performing exactly as designed”.

The success of the installation has already led to a new phase of collaboration.

The project has been so successful that the Paris team has asked us to return and completely renovate the cabaret space using 1 SOUND, shares Ojeda.

This new phase will take place at Le Cabaret Lounge within Paris Las Vegas, continuing the property's commitment to delivering a more immersive and engaging experience through sound.
