Panasonic Broadcast & AV accelerates the arrival of the AW-RP200GJ, its new remote camera controller designed to meet the growing demands of today’s multi-camera productions.
This device introduces, for the first time in the controller lineup, macro control functionality, along with an innovative dual joystick design aimed at delivering greater precision and efficiency for operators.
The AW-RP200GJ is aimed at professional environments such as broadcast, live events, sports productions and television studios, where coordinating multiple PTZ cameras requires speed, intuitive control and optimized workflows.
One of the key innovations of the AW-RP200GJ is the inclusion of macro functionality, a feature that allows operators to automate complex sequences including camera movements, preset recall or coordinated actions across multiple cameras, executed with a single press. This helps simplify repetitive tasks and maintain production pace even in more complex environments. In addition, while a macro is running, the operator can continue controlling other cameras, providing greater operational flexibility and enabling production teams to focus on creativity and visual storytelling.
Dual joystick
In addition, by incorporating a dual joystick system designed to improve speed and precision in PTZ camera control, the main joystick allows control of pan, tilt, zoom and focus, while the secondary joystick, located on the left side of the controller, enables simultaneous handling of additional functions. This design facilitates multitasking and allows dynamic real-time adjustments, which is especially valuable in live events or sports productions where every second counts.
The controller also features 20 user-assignable buttons, each with its own illuminated LCD screen. These displays clearly show the assigned function, such as camera selection, macro execution or preset recall, enabling operators to quickly identify each command and adapt the system to different workflows. This helps streamline operations in complex multi-camera environments and ensures that the most frequently used functions are always within reach.
Seamless integration into professional workflows and large-scale productions
The AW-RP200GJ has been designed to integrate into modern production infrastructures. Its web-based configuration interface allows system parameters to be adjusted from a browser, facilitating mass IP address assignment and the configuration of multiple cameras. The controller also includes a built-in 7-inch LCD screen capable of displaying video signals from cameras connected to the local network. This screen supports features such as touch focus and cropping control, providing additional tools for precise framing with PTZ cameras.
In addition to controlling up to 200 PTZ cameras, the AW-RP200GJ is designed for large-scale productions requiring centralized and efficient management. Its intuitive design and automation tools enable even small production teams to manage complex multi-camera systems with greater ease.
