Clearlight Shows Pty Ltd has carried out a lighting upgrade at the iconic Marriner Theatre Plaza Ballroom. The installation combines Infinity and Showtec fixtures from Highlite International to provide robust, modern equipment optimized for performances, broadcasts, and high-level live event lighting.
The Plaza Ballroom, part of the Marriner Group, is a splendidly decorated space without natural light, making color accuracy and flicker-free performance essential.

Having collaborated closely with the theatre group on numerous occasions, Clearlight was invited to propose a system using Highlite products, which the venue had previously successfully hired.
The venue's team had been testing LED replacement fixtures for some time. When they saw the Infinity range in action, particularly the Showtec Performer Profile Zoom 150 Q6 fixture, they were impressed by its performance and beam quality, explained John McKissock, founder of Clearlight Shows.
The final equipment includes:
- 12 Infinity Furion S201 Spot moving heads
- 20 Infinity iW-1941 RGBW wash lights with zoom
- 8 Infinity TF260C7 Fresnel fixtures with 7 colors
- 18 Infinity TS260C7 Profile Engines
- 40 Showtec Performer Profile Zoom 150 Q6 RGBACL spots
- 2 Showtec Phantom Zoombar 1220 fixtures
- 2 Showtec ACT Par 200 W RGBAL spots

This tailored combination of profile, wash, and effect lighting allowed Clearlight to move away from conventional fresnel equipment and focus on precise, energy-efficient LED profiles, offering greater flexibility and reducing energy consumption and maintenance requirements for the venue.
The Furion range, in particular, impresses clients with its smooth, slow movement and high brightness. Designers are now specifically requesting Infinity by name, which speaks volumes about how the Australian market has responded, added McKissock.
