Seeing Prospa for the first time, fans are struck by their musical talent. The Leeds-based duo masterfully blends riffs, breakbeat rhythms, and analog synthesizer sounds, creating a fluid and immersive experience that one critic compared to “da Vinci painting with light on a canvas”.
The result is vibrant club music, designed to be felt and come alive on the dancefloor.
But Prospa’s artistry goes far beyond that. By creating a sonic tapestry that draws energy from multiple sources, the two musicians shape what they call an “experiential event”, rather than a standard EDM set. This is evident in their popular Prophecy series of shows, which they have been performing around the world since 2025.
When Prospa’s Prophecy show arrived at London Magazine, this transcendental quality was reflected in a subtle yet immersive design, based on the use of the Color STRIKE M from CHAUVET Professional, and created by creative director and production designer Elliot Baines of Spiralstagelighting, with the support of Coloursound Experiment.
Baines’ design, with a strong emphasis on backlighting, shadows, and silhouettes, created a deep and captivating atmosphere that complemented the music. Enhancing this mood even further, two suspended hands above the stage and an angel in the background—both accentuated by the lighting—added an extra dimension.
We wanted the show to feel ethereal. We didn’t want a conventional concert with chapters throughout the performance. Our goal was to bring a dark, mysterious aesthetic in line with 'Prophecy'. The two hands suspended above the stage (part of the traveling 'Prophecy' set) and the angel at the back of the venue, with her arms outstretched as if flying through the rig, helped us achieve this uplighting effect, explained Baines, who also highlighted the collaboration of Coloursound Experiment, ER (lasers), and Ombra (content) for adding an extra dimension to the design.
Following this creative vision, Baines avoided standard key lighting in favor of backlighting. “The DJs themselves preferred to be lit from behind”, he explained. “They were always backlit or lit from different side angles. We didn’t want this show to have a typical concert look”.

The number of STRIKE Ms we had was more than enough, as they are incredibly powerful, even with a full stage. We positioned them at the back, behind Prospa and their guests. In this show, the STRIKE Ms were treated as a design element in their own right. Their role was very clear and important. They were our key tools for backlighting and creating silhouettes—something essential in a show that evokes mystery, he noted.
