Celestion unveiled its groundbreaking Lensguide technology, showcased in its new range of innovative waveshaper and horn designs for line array systems.
Lensguide technology addresses the inherent shortcomings of conventional waveguide and horn design, which typically force a choice between achieving controlled directivity with poor frequency response, or smooth frequency response with limited directivity control.
Celestion’s innovative Lensguide technology delivers the best of both worlds: controlled directivity combined with a smooth and consistent frequency response at the same time.
Versatile, scalable and adaptable
The technology is highly versatile and scalable. It can be used with a single compression driver or with multiple drivers configured in an array system, and adapted to different applications and transducer types.
The key to Lensguide technology lies in the use of carefully designed corrugations and the advanced methods used to calculate them, which set it apart from traditional solutions. By precisely controlling the length of the acoustic path, a higher level of wavefront coherence is achieved—something conventional waveguides cannot match. The result is a more uniform, smooth and consistent sound reproduction across the entire frequency band, says Paul Cork, Celestion’s Head of Engineering.
