The Elation Professional booth at LDI Las Vegas 2023: Unleashing the Creative Spirit

New solutions in the Proteus, Fuze, and KL series sought to redefine industry standards and inspire designers to dream big. Elation continued pushing the boundaries in entertainment lighting at the LDI show in Las Vegas with a series of premiere product launches designed to enhance the creative spirit.

An LDI full of innovation, celebrated as every year at the Las Vegas Convention Center. ISP Audio & Light Magazine was able to see firsthand a selection of innovative solutions that merge the art of light with the science of lighting innovation.

Among the highlights in the Proteus multi-environmental series was the Proteus Hybrid MAX with an IP66 rating, a next-generation hybrid device with pioneering technology launched as the torchbearer successor to the revolutionary Proteus Hybrid. Also showcased was the Proteus Odeon, a framed profile device with a fully variable CRI LED engine, and the Proteus Radius, a high-intensity beam effect device with a solid-state phosphor-converted light engine for incredible power over long distances.

New to the popular Fuze series from Elation was the Fuze Teatro, a fully automated and fanless framing device for completely silent operation and the first fanless automated lighting device incorporating an additive color engine. New lighting devices in the coveted KL "Key Light" series were also highlighted, including the KL CYC for cyclorama/set/wall wash, along with the all-in-one KL Spot IP, a fully automated ellipsoidal with zoom.

And there was more! Elation launched two new series of versatile color-changing Pars, the Six+ Par, an upgrade to the industry-favorite SixPar with IP65 rating, more power, a wider color spectrum, and overall higher light quality; and the Limelight Par, a versatile wash device with full-body color mixing, IP65 rating capable of uniform coverage even up to well-defined narrow beams.

The expert team from ISP Audio & Light Magazine was present to witness demonstrations reflecting the advanced features and versatile capabilities of these innovative devices. The latest developments from Obsidian Control Systems and atmospheric effects from Magmatic were also showcased.

Proteus Hybrid MAX

Proteus Hybrid MAX was a compact hybrid beam/spot/wash device with an IP66 rating that took everything loved about the revolutionary Proteus Hybrid and took it to the MAX power. However, this wasn't just an upgrade. With pioneering technologies like Fast Advanced Features (FAF), Tri-Tier Animation, and SpinSync Tracking, it was a revolutionary evolution in lighting excellence. Faster, brighter, and more robust than its revolutionary predecessor, it boasted 22,000 lumens of brightness, capable of true linear zoom adjustments in any setup, and housed an enormous set of visual effects.

Proteus Odeon

Loaded with design features, this IP65-rated framed profile device featured the industry's first fully variable CRI LED engine. The variable CRI system allowed the custom selection of the best combination of light output and color accuracy, seamlessly adjusting from CRI 70 to CRI 93. As the CRI adapted, the color temperature remained stable, ensuring accurate color representation and visual quality. With adjustable CRI from a single device, Odeon could not only adapt to a wide range of applications but also saved designers from needing multiple light variants to achieve accurate color representation.

Proteus Radius

Proteus Radius was a compact high-intensity beam effect device with an IP65 rating. Using an efficient 100W solid-state phosphor-converted light engine, the device projected narrow and intense beams with incredible power over long distances. The solid-state phosphor-converted light engine offered an ultra-intense 0.9˚ beam that cut through with unparalleled brightness, creating attention-grabbing visuals that left a lasting impression, even at long distances. 360-degree movement on both axes allowed for striking beam animations, while the CMY color mixing, gobos, prisms, and frost enabled the designer to compose an endless variety of stunning aerial effects.

Fuze Teatro

Fuze Teatro was designed for any application where a fully automated and silent framing device with outstanding color range and quality was required. The device had no fan for completely silent operation in noise-sensitive environments. It housed a set of 480W RGBMA LEDs with a CRI of 91 and a power of over 15,000 lumens. Two rotating gobo wheels, animation wheel, double frost, prism, and iris completed its comprehensive feature set.

KL 20 Par

KL CYC

KL CYC was an ideal LED lighting solution for soft and even washing of cycloramas, stage designs, and walls. With an RGBMA color system, it used a carefully crafted asymmetric reflector design to achieve perfect blends while covering significant heights with ease. Available in one-meter or half-meter models, it was also an ideal choice for floor light positions, providing excellent versatility for use in stages, film, television, and events. Seamless magnetic alignment, a simple mounting bracket, and elegant power and data management made KL CYC very easy to integrate.

KL Spot IP

KL Spot IP with an IP65 rating was a fully automated static ellipsoidal device with zoom and was the perfect complement to Elation's KL Profile FC. With a zoom range of 7 to 50 degrees, it did not require additional lens tubes, reducing costs, complexities, and providing excellent flexibility for any location. Color quality and color manipulation were crucial for KL Spot IP, and a comprehensive feature set ensured many design options.

Six+ Par

This update to Elation's SixPar series, an industry standard, versatile color-changing Par fixtures, introduced more power, a wider color spectrum, and overall higher light quality. Available with 7x or 14x 20W RGBMA+UV LEDs, the SIX+ Par offered beautifully homogenized light wash with outstanding color reproduction capabilities. Expanded control capabilities made it a more versatile device, and its rugged IP65-rated housing could handle any environment.

Limelight Par

Limelight Par was a versatile wash device with an IP65 rating, full-body color mixing of 40W RGBL, and an efficient zoom lens optic. It offered a highly homogenized output of up to 4200 lumens and provided the broad color spectrum and high CRI needed for the light quality required by key and fill light applications. It delivered a well-defined narrow beam for aerial effects and long throw distances, as well as wide and uniform wash coverage at shorter distances. LEDs could be controlled in two separate zones for additional visual effects.
