New 24-channel digital controller for rigging and lifting applications

The lifting control systems market welcomes a new solution based on hybrid architecture and digital control. The unit can manage up to 24 channels and includes features designed to enhance individual line protection, simplify maintenance, and streamline routine operations in touring and production environments.

The controller has been developed for professional rigging and hoist control applications, allowing operators to manage up to 24 lifting points from a single unit. This represents a significant increase compared to previous generations and addresses the growing demand for systems capable of centralizing a higher number of operations without increasing installation complexity.

One of the system’s most notable features is its hybrid architecture, based on direct-voltage operation. According to the manufacturer, this approach reduces wear on switching components through progressive electronic management and extends the service life of certain modules compared to conventional technologies.

Each channel features dedicated circuit-breaker protection, making it easier to isolate faults and improve monitoring of every lifting line. This configuration also helps simplify maintenance and diagnostic procedures.

System monitoring is carried out through a three-inch OLED display, which provides access to information related to power supply status, protection breakers, channel configuration, operating limits, and software updates.

Among the features designed for day-to-day operation is an individual adjustment mode that allows a single hoist to be operated without changing the selection of the remaining active channels. The aim is to speed up setup and commissioning tasks during installations.

To facilitate visual identification of each line’s status, the selectors incorporate RGB LED indicators capable of displaying different operating modes, including active and inactive channels, upward and downward movement, and adjustment functions.

In terms of safety, the system offers independent motion-direction reversal for each channel. This feature allows wiring errors between the controller and hoists to be corrected without physically modifying the installation. Configurations can subsequently be locked through the digital interface to prevent unauthorized changes.

The controller also incorporates a group-stop function that automatically halts operation whenever a protection device is triggered. For situations where partial system operation must be maintained, a bypass mode is available, allowing work to continue with the remaining channels.

The internal electronic architecture uses Ethernet communications via RJ45 connections between the system’s various boards, an approach intended to simplify design, facilitate future expansion, and optimize maintenance procedures.

Finally, the platform supports software updates that enable new features and improvements to be added throughout its lifecycle, reflecting a trend that is becoming increasingly common in control systems used across the entertainment and live events industries.
