The international media and entertainment fair IBC2025, to be held in Amsterdam from 12 to 15 September, announces two of the most anticipated highlights: a tribute to Thelma Schoonmaker and an exclusive session dedicated to the documentary Becoming Led Zeppelin.
Over the past decades, IBC has established itself as an unmissable event for professionals in communication, entertainment, and audiovisual technology. This year, the event returns to the RAI Amsterdam with a program that combines innovation, top-level conferences, networking opportunities and, above all, unique experiences for industry enthusiasts.
Among the dozens of conferences and presentations that will be part of the agenda, two are already generating special anticipation and will undoubtedly become milestones of this edition.
Thelma Schoonmaker, a tribute to a film legend
On Sunday, 14 September, at 16:15 (CEST), legendary film editor Thelma Schoonmaker —winner of three Academy Awards for Raging Bull, The Aviator and The Departed— will take part in a Fireside Chat in the Auditorium Complex at the RAI. This will be a unique opportunity to hear firsthand from one of the most influential women in the history of cinema, a regular collaborator of Martin Scorsese since the late 1960s.
That same day, at 18:00, Schoonmaker will receive the International Honour for Excellence (IHFE), IBC’s highest award, which recognizes the career and impact of figures who have left a mark on the global audiovisual industry.
Becoming Led Zeppelin: music, cinema and technology
The day before, Saturday 13 September, the spotlight will be on the highly anticipated documentary Becoming Led Zeppelin, focused on the origins of the legendary British band. At 11:30, director Bernard MacMahon and sound supervisor Nicholas Bergh will reveal the secrets of the filming and the complex process behind creating this IMAX production.
The day will culminate with a special screening of the film and an audience Q&A at 19:00 in Cinema The Pulse, an unmissable occasion for fans of music and documentary film.
The buzz around this production is already huge on social media, and the IBC2025 session promises to become one of the most talked-about moments of the fair.
IBC2025: innovation, technology and creativity
Beyond these two major highlights, IBC2025 remains a global platform for discovering the latest trends in broadcast, audiovisual production, content distribution, artificial intelligence, extended reality and streaming.
Each year, the fair gathers tens of thousands of international attendees, including executives from leading media groups, cutting-edge technology engineers, creatives, producers, and specialized journalists. It is a space where disruptive innovations are presented, the challenges of the digital future are debated, and the milestones of an ever-evolving industry are celebrated.
Free access for readers
Although visitor passes are priced at €175, thanks to the media partnership with IBC readers can still get a free ticket.
This way, any professional or enthusiast of the audiovisual industry will have the opportunity to attend two unmissable experiences: a tribute to one of cinema’s brightest editors and a journey into the origins of Led Zeppelin on the big screen.
