4Wall Entertainment has made a significant investment in the PARAGON series from Elation, adding hundreds of PARAGON S and PARAGON M LED profile luminaires to its rental inventory across multiple locations in the United States.
According to Wes Bailey, CEO of 4Wall, the compact size of the PARAGON and its set of innovative features were decisive factors.
PARAGON S meets an important need for us thanks to its compact size and wide range of functions. The fact that it is also IP54 rated made the decision to purchase them very easy.
Bailey also highlighted the luminaire’s variable CRI engine, multiple front lens options, and ultra-quiet mode as significant advantages. “Previously, there were few options in this segment that offered this set of capabilities. You had to choose which features were important and which ones you were willing to sacrifice. Having all these functions in a single luminaire was a key factor in our decision to add them”.
New flagship series
The PARAGON series from Elation is the company’s new flagship line of luminaires, the result of years of research and development and collaboration with leading lighting designers. Available in three models (S, M, LT) to suit different venue sizes and needs, each luminaire is IP54-rated and designed with flexibility in mind.
PARAGON features an interchangeable lens system, Elation’s proprietary TruTone variable CRI technology, and a comprehensive suite of creative tools, all housed in a compact and robust chassis.
Already in action
The new PARAGON units from 4Wall are already in use across a wide variety of projects, including corporate events, concert tours, television, and theatrical productions. Highlights include IBM Tech Conference, Dell Technologies World, NetApp Converge, Ford National Dealer Meeting, and the upcoming Dreamforce.
'Am I Roxie?'
In the theatre world, 4Wall’s PARAGON units were used in Am I Roxie? with luminaires supplied by 4Wall. Lighting designer Pablo Santiago, who specified PARAGON for the production and uses them over the stage to create specials, backlight, stage textures, and kinetic movement, praised the luminaire’s versatility and compact design:
The main reason we chose PARAGON was its size. We have very limited fly space due to the scenery that moves in and out for each scene, so making sure it fit and could be as flexible as we needed was the perfect choice, explained Santiago.
Santiago added that the PARAGON’s brightness “is quite good for its size and doesn’t drop off in saturated color, which is very helpful. We don’t feel like we are sacrificing lumens for a theatre the size of the Geffen”.
The designer highlighted the gobo options and overall flexibility as especially useful in a theatrical setting, noting that the standard gobo load is interesting and well-suited for a stage production. “The color chips, especially the quad color, also stand out”, he said. “And the effects and movement from the prisms and animation wheel give me a wide range of choices and evocative looks”.
PARAGON has also been designed for applications that require quiet operation, an important feature in theatre, and one Santiago emphasized. “The play has many very intimate moments, and we haven’t had any issues with fan noise, which is impressive”.
Bailey concludes by noting that the competitive price was also an important factor when comparing PARAGON with similar luminaires.
The new fixtures join a wide range of Elation products already present in 4Wall’s inventory, further strengthening the company’s ability to meet client needs across multiple markets.
