VIO L1608 joins Audio Music's rental fleet with 32 new units

Audio Music, a German company specialising in technical event production and based in Much, has added 32 units of the new dBTechnologies VIO L1608 line array system to its rental fleet.

The investment, completed in April 2026, further strengthens the long-standing partnership between the two companies and brings Audio Music's inventory close to covering the entire VIO product range.

For many years, Audio Music has relied on dBTechnologies systems. From shareholder meetings, conferences and trade shows to corporate summer events and large-scale productions, the company's team—which operates throughout Europe—uses the Italian manufacturer's professional audio solutions.

This latest acquisition represents far more than a simple inventory expansion: it reflects a relationship built over many years on trust in product quality, reliability and customer support.

We have been working with dBTechnologies for many years and know we can rely on its products, both in our day-to-day rental business and on the most demanding live productions. With the VIO L1608, we are adding a lightweight and compact line array to our portfolio without compromising performance. This enables us to meet virtually every customer requirement, from compact point source applications to large-scale line array deployments, says Gerald Albrich, Managing Director of Audio Music.

With the addition of the VIO L1608, Audio Music now operates one of the most comprehensive VIO rental inventories in the professional event technology market:

  • Line arrays: VIO L212, VIO L1610, VIO L1608
  • Subwoofers: VIO S118R, VIO S218
  • Point source systems: VIO X205, VIO X206, VIO X310
  • Stage monitors: VIO W15T

This extensive system inventory enables Audio Music to provide fully integrated, scalable audio solutions for events of virtually any size, offering a significant advantage when planning productions with a wide range of technical requirements.

VIO L1608: the latest addition to the VIO line array family

The VIO L1608 is the newest member of the VIO line array family. The system was unveiled internationally in early 2026 at the NAMM Show and ISE, while its German debut took place in February 2026 during Rental Day at the dBTechnologies Audio Arena in Cologne. The first deliveries from the company's headquarters in Bologna began in March 2026.

Although its external dimensions are comparable to those of a conventional compact two-way line array, the VIO L1608 has been engineered as a true three-way system. It features two 8-inch neodymium low-frequency transducers combined with a coaxial mid/high-frequency section, powered by a 1,600 W RMS Class-D amplifier. An optimised waveguide and a low crossover frequency of around 650 Hz allow part of the midrange spectrum to be controlled through the horn, delivering consistent horizontal coverage, even sound pressure level (SPL) distribution and a natural, open midrange response throughout the listening area.

One of the system's main innovations is its newly developed side-firing bass reflex ports, designed by dBTechnologies. By positioning the air ducts on the sides of the enclosure, airflow turbulence is reduced, internal pressure is stabilised and low-frequency performance is improved. The result is exceptionally high output for an enclosure of this size, combined with outstanding transient response even at high sound pressure levels. Weighing just 22 kg, the system remains compact and easy to handle while delivering the performance of a much larger line array, without sacrificing the flexibility and logistical advantages required by today's rental market.
