Production Futures continues its mission to create greater access and opportunities for the next generation of professionals looking to enter the production industry with the launch of its Summer Skills Series.
The initiative, which will run throughout the summer and beyond, aims to connect emerging talent with job opportunities, training programmes, open days, boot camps and many other career development opportunities.
Access to the Summer Skills Series is completely free through the Production Futures online community, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The platform connects participants directly with available opportunities, removing traditional barriers to entry.
For far too long, access to the production industry—which, paradoxically, is experiencing a significant shortage of skilled professionals—has depended on knowing the right person, attending the right college or university, or simply getting a lucky break. We want to leave that approach behind by removing middlemen and waiting rooms while providing new talent with clear pathways into the many and varied roles available, explains Chief Executive Officer Hannah Eakins.
This summer, the organisation aims to work with more industry companies, promote a greater number of employment and training opportunities, and ensure that emerging talent has direct access to the businesses and career paths that need them most.
Over the past eighteen months, Production Futures has increased its reach by 170% among the next generation of production professionals and now works with more than one hundred industry partners. However, the industry's skills shortage remains critical, making it essential to maintain this momentum.
Its existing partners, who are fundamental to the success of the initiative, are already actively involved in the campaign, providing information on job vacancies, training programmes, placements, projects and many other opportunities. As a result, opportunities are just a click away for the next generation of production professionals.
We naturally want the Summer Skills Series to reach as far as possible, and we want every forward-thinking company to be part of it.
